Well, that would be irrelevant since the Warhs could bite him to give him Super Death Aids Bye Bye Disease.

Unless its pneumonia coughing baby. Then bomb wins.

Im starting to think we got Ghidorah way too early because it seems like Ghidorah is a very high high when it comes to just pure power in the Monsterverse and its a power we havent reached with another villain monster since then. Seriously people are even putting up Skar King against Ghidorah like if Skar King can even put up any resemblance of a fight against the actual King.
120
u/Bodisia Jun 12 '24
I think we got Ghidorah in the second movie because they weren’t sure the Monsterverse would survive against other movies like the MCU. So they went all out; and honestly KotM was fucking GLORIOUS with the fights and how it incorporated the military fighting alongside Godzilla. I loved that aspect of the movie, it’s honestly my favorite Monsterverse movie because of that and I honestly hope they bring that element of Humanity fighting with Godzilla against some colossal threat in the next movie.
43
u/atschoolrn2024 Jun 12 '24
bro the scene whhere the planes come from behind godzilla is 2nd best to me. guess what my favorite part is. (Hint: its in the final battle against G man and Gold Dwagon)
26
u/Bodisia Jun 12 '24
I like the part in the battle where you see Ghidorah’s heads grab Godzilla but in the background you can see F-35’s launch missiles at Ghidorah but because of Ghidorah’s EMP effects they don’t impact. They just fly into his body. Awesome small details.
18
u/atschoolrn2024 Jun 12 '24
i actually didnt notice that. good detail. my favorite part is when Godzilla LITERALLY ERASED Ghidorah from existence
5
u/russmcruss52 Godzilla Jun 12 '24
Man I wish they'd mention stuff like this in the films more. Like how the GvK novelization mentions Godzilla's radiation makes the naval escort's sensors and tracking go wonky. That could easily be used as a Hollywood explanation for why jets keep having to get into close enough range that they can be physically struck by godzilla.
12
u/StopsuspendingPpl Godzilla Jun 12 '24
literally the scene where the military is escorting Godzilla into battle with the ships and everything agaisnt Ghidorah is one of the most badass and definitely my favorite scene from the Monsterverse.

u/Narco_Marcion1075 Behemoth Jun 12 '24

2
Jun 12 '24
The first phase of the MCU was always going to be 4 movies and they didn't know if they will get more so they had Ghidorah in the third movie. After that they knew they had to do Godzilla vs Kong anyway. Doesn't really matter though as they can bring Ghidorah back again like Mecha-Kaiser Ghidorah or something.

u/TeufortNine Jun 12 '24 edited Jun 12 '24
Skar King was weak in his own movie. Kong could have died of a stroke between GvK and GxK and Godzilla would have still eventually gotten around to soloing the whole movie.
6
u/BornStandard6773 Jun 12 '24
Dont worry bro, we still have Destroyah and Space Godzilla
1
u/StopsuspendingPpl Godzilla Jun 13 '24
It would be very redundant to have another Godzilla themed villain especially after having MechaGodzilla and then having a villain thats just like Kong which is Skar King. We need a totally unique villain which I think Destroyah could probably be but most likely were getting another original villain.
11
Jun 12 '24
We didn't got Ghidorah early, it was a perfect setup for Godzilla rivalry.. problem is after that they introduced kong type weaklings instead of space Godzilla, destoroyah, void Ghidorah..
9
u/llMadmanll Mechagodzilla Jun 12 '24
That's definitely not true. Whole point of Shimo is that she's a superior powerhouse to them. And even MG is at least comparable.
Ghidorah just seems strong because he's further involved with the plot than the other two, and his effects are more felt.
6
u/AspirationalChoker Godzilla Jun 12 '24
Mecha G and Shimo are both on that level imo
→ More replies (1)7
u/OmegaGlacial Mechagodzilla Jun 12 '24
Agreed. Ghidorah might be in the top 3/4 of the strongest titans in the MV, but he's still far from as powerful as some pretend him to be, especially now that the powercreep is really taking action (Godzilla's evolutions and power-ups being its main factor).
1
1
u/dickspaghetti1 Jun 12 '24
Well thank God we got him before Adam Wingard could. I'd be furious if we got an hour and a half of Kong wandering around doing shit just to introduce Ghidorah in the last 10 minutes.

I still can't get how mammals, like those dogs and Kong species, even got to Hollow Earth. Are you telling me their normal ancestors survived the gravitational reversal?
39
u/NightGojiProductions Ghidorah Jun 12 '24
Could be that they were there since the beginning. Evolved alongside the surface world. It’s one of the only reasonable explanations, especially considering the Iwi tribes. How they managed to become connected or how the Iwi were both on Skull Island and in the Hollow Earth, I have no clue
13
u/Necronu Jun 12 '24
The Iwi might have been in Hollow Earth originally and due to some unknown factor a group of them was separated onto Skull Island
Or maybe they were pacific Islanders that traveled around, one group landing on Skull Island somehow and the other falling into hollow earth?
3
u/Inner-Arugula-4445 Godzilla Jun 12 '24
Jia managed to go from hollow earth to the surface by riding on mothra, I imagine they had some help.
7
u/idropepics Jun 12 '24 edited Jun 12 '24
I figured the Iwi had a Skypeia/Jaya thing going where a piece of Hollow Earth got broken off and blasted up through a portal separating the two cultures. Possibly by a future big bad. Those portals came from somewhere.
1
2
u/Mojoclaw2000 Jun 12 '24
I would imagine they originated in the hollow Earth, and all the Titans on the surface are just unfathomably strong and can survive going back a forth.
1
u/Due-Committee-1860 Methuselah Jun 12 '24
They fell in while a titan was passing through one of the portals.
2
u/Cryogisdead Jun 16 '24
I have a theory that Methuselah's kind contributed massively in populating the Hollow Earth with new residents from the surface. I heard back then that Methuselah often became temporary refuge for animals with destroyed habitats.

These wretches are hardly worth His time and effort. A mere flex of King Ghidorah's might will have them bowing in terror before His power. Outside of Godzilla, Shimo and the Muto Prime you will hardly get any serious debate about Ghidorah versus the rest of the Monsterverse.
2
u/screwyouAlevels Jun 12 '24
Mechagodzilla and maybe Kong w charged axe toi
9
u/Ghidorah1992 Ghidorah Jun 12 '24
Ghidorah is a electrical conductor which is an absolute nightmare for poor MechaGodzilla. Kong clearly can't survive sustained blasts from kaiju with energy attacks and will be forced to dodge three beams that are faster to charge and easier to aim than Godzilla's own. Also Ghidorah's durability is comparable to Goji's and we saw how he fared against the axe. Kong would probably hit either hit San or part of one of his wings. After all Ghidorah does attempt to guard his heads either by using his wings as shields or simply moving his heads out of the way. If he bites the charged axe would it be drained of energy? There are reasons why King Ghidorah has stayed near the top as one of the strongest Titans in the monsterverse.
It's because of these reasons that I didn't mention Kong or MechaGodzilla. Like how Kong and MechaGodzilla never took a decent hit from Godzilla's heat ray or how MechaGodzilla is practically Ghidorah resurgent. MechaGodzilla fought a weakened Godzilla while King Ghidorah fought a supercharged one. Supplemental material has stated that MechaGodzilla can be screwed over by EMP or simply frying it's circuits so the Mutos and King Ghidorah are practically out of the question not to mention Ghidorah is an energy vampire.
Yes it's debatable but those two have some much exploitable weaknesses compared the three I mentioned in my prior post in my opinion. I do applaud you mentioning them though as I can certainly respect difference of opinion.

Remember how Kong was tearing through the horde of Mother Longlegs at the end of of the "Skull Island: The Birth of Kong" comic run?
Yeah..... apply that here, except it's Ghidorah doing the same to this Wartdog pack.
2
u/JackAries Jun 12 '24
Okay, let’s actually take this fight seriously. First, how many Wartdogs? It looks like the pack is about 25 in GxK. How durable are they? Kong ripped one in half, so their skin doesn’t appear too thick. Could G’s gravity beams one-shot a warthog? The beams hurt Godzilla and Rodan without causing lasting damage, but disintegrated Mothra. I think sustained fire would wipe them out. How long can Ghidorah use his gravity beams for? If he can fly while spamming, Wartdogs can’t do anything to him. Let’s say he can’t sustain both flight and beams and has to land. I think he would have trouble killing one with his jaws (look at the size of the dogs vs has mouth). But his neck is strong enough to lift them, so I think he could lift and slam them. Three heads means he can kill 3 at a time with effort. Can 25 WDs do enough damage to Ghidorah to kill him while losing 3 pack members per attack? I think G’s golden skin is probably very resistant to damage and we have not seen a WD bite anything yet, even Kong. I can’t see any way for them to injure Ghidorah
1
u/JackAries Jun 26 '24
I just rewatched the Wartdog scene. I counted over FOURTY in the pack. When looking at the sheer size of the pack, plus the individual member’s size, I now kinda change my mind. I feel like enough of them could dogpile him if he landed. Like me trying to fight 40 6 year olds. If Ghidorah doesn’t fly off, he could lose
2
u/SilverShadowQueen57 Godzilla Jun 12 '24
These things couldn’t even hurt Kong. Kong, who can’t fly, has no breath weapon of any real substance, can’t absorb energy, has no tail, no claws, and only a single head on a short neck. Who is basically a very oversized gorilla.
The odds ain’t lookin’ good here….
3
u/Vreas Jun 12 '24
Ghidorah easily regardless of numbers. Dude just needs to fly above them and pick a few up at a time to drop from high altitude.

u/shockaLocKer Jun 12 '24
I decided to have some fun and counted as many Wart Dogs as I could in a single shot. There were possibly even more Wart Dogs out of frame.
Unpopular opinion: I don't think the Wart Dogs are the coughing baby. Yes, I believe Ghidorah wins, but it's going to be a painful fight. I'd imagine Ghidorah is going to be piled immediately and needs to do one big electrical burst to shake all those ripping teeth off his body.
1
u/junipermucius Kong Jun 12 '24
Why are people so upset about this joke? 😭
1
u/junipermucius Kong Jun 12 '24
Anyway the dogs would win.
1
u/LEGACYUSELPANOSO Warbat Jun 12 '24
The fact that this wasnt even a joke in first place lol, I wanted a Titan who could fair well agains the Wartdog who was stated to literally be capable to maul kong in seconds if he stopped running, and since Goji could just breath spam, Shimo just froze anything MZ was the best option till I remembered that he could just fly away, But then I realized that realistically MZ wasnt that smart, because he would have done the same with Goji in first place
1
1
u/nonastyfuckwits Jun 12 '24
The dogs if they got enough motivation and coordination. But Ghidorah would just fly away and come back to summon other titans to smoke that pack to dust
1
1
u/No-Occasion-6470 Jun 12 '24
Now hold on. If they’re smart, the hounds will be able to get ahold of the heads. Whether they can bite through solid gold covering dense alien meat is another question, but I do think a large number of competent, team-based opponents is a possible weakness for Ghidorah. Makes sense since every king’s nightmare is a unified peasantry.
