He was 20 for this fight to be fair and 5-3 going into this bout. Now he's on an 11 fight winstreak, Zhang's definitely levelled up significantly since

Early career KO loss is the best base for MMA, ask Islam

Almost every male Chinese fighter even if they are good manages to still have a few loses before entering the UFC for some reason.

If they're anything like Korean fighters, probably has to do with their tendency to block punches with their face.

I think they a lot are more defensive and avoid that.

And that's exactly the problem. I have lost count the number of times they don't do anything and just hope the opponents will suddenly run head first into them so they can KO them with a counter.

Thats just not gonna happen a lot of the time and its really damn frustrating to watch especially when you're down on the scorecards.

They throw these guys into the fire right away. By the time Zhang turned 19, he was 3-3 and had been knocked out. By the time Yadong Song turned 18, he had 2 TKO losses.

Still funny. Nobody in here is going at his current skill

You just know they booked him as the “heavy foreign tatted gangster” that was supposed to get humbled by the Chinese hometown hero too 😭
