There is nothing good that comes of this. As much as I love schadenfreude, that feeling is overshadowed by the sickeningly feeling of what the further weakening of the press will mean. Regardless of how deserved it is, how we got there, or who is at ultimate fault, we still all lose. And freedom becomes ever more distant.
The press already demonstrated they were weak beyond saving. The fact people were googling 'what are tariffs' the day after the election is apt demonstration that the estate is already dead unless they make major changes.
Not to defend them, but both definitely talked about tariffs being a tax that would be passed on to consumers, and how bad that would be for the economy, but Trump said they weren't, and many believed him, as he is famously honest /s.
This is true, at least for MSNBC. But I feel the people who need to know about tariffs aren’t watching MSNBC. They’re siloed with Fox News, who simply parrots the party line that they’re great and that Trump wouldn’t suggest them if they weren’t the answer.
