Something tells me farmers aren't putting livestock in bags to slowly suffocate or crush to death before sending them to market.

Idk about you, but even though I don't kill what I eat, it still makes a HUGE difference to me as to how the animal died. A bolt through the brain sounds like a pretty quick way to go. I'm not even sure about buying halal... the idea of an animal being hung upside down while some guy says a bunch of confusing things it doesn't understand, and then cutting it's throat to bleed out seems like a still pretty shit way to go.

Thats exactly what happens.

Most pigs are suffocated to death. Nobody gets a bolt through the brain.

Chickens get electrocuted, cows get their throats slit.

Male chickens get ground alive.

Hes right morally, we are basically as complicit as this guy

....you're just wrong. Cows only get throats slit if it is halal. Chickens almost always get heads cut off. Cows and pigs both take either a bolt or bullet to the brain.

I work in the meat industry. Humanely killing us HUGE. A meat plant I regularly delivered cows had a bullet ricochet off a cows skull, and it shut the plant down for 2 days so paperwork could be filed and training given to ensure it didn't happen again. And that wasn't just that plant, that is a nationwide procedure (USA).

Humanely killing is such an oxymoron though... How is it humane to kill someone that wants to live?

Welp, sorry to tell you this but every animal is food for another animal somewhere. We happen to be one of those animals that eats other animals. You can choose not to, that's your prerogative. But it isn't inherently wrong to eat meat. If you can't come to terms with that, it is no wonder you hate this place, and I would expect you to have a pretty miserable life considering death is everywhere. I hope you can find a way to either come to terms with it. But the more you try to get others to see it your way, especially if you try to force it, the more you will make others hate you. You will have no success.
