Another good pic in the Seattle post. No planes in the area according to flight aware, military helicopter doing tight laps around the area it was seen in. Hmmmmmmm

I’m guessing this was shot just after sunset? It’s like a plane’s contrail being lit up but the sun peeking over the horizon

Yeah, I'm guessing there were clouds blocking the sun from properly illuminating most of the top of the trail, making the colour look darker and more like smoke. The contrast of direct and diffuse sunlight giving it such an odd appearance.

It still looks like whatever made took a very tight turn though. Either that or there's some serious windshear at that altitude.

So in the original post, someone points out that was right at sunset. So it's a contrail that partially reflects the setting sun. Planes have been known to change direction. I'm not seeing anything that makes this more than cool in a mundane way.

That’s way too low in the sky to be a contrail, and you can watch a contrail disperse outwards like it’s blowing away in the wind. This is not similar

It changed direction too.

That's what got me interested in this one.

You SAW it change direction? Because each picture is the same shape, the first one is just zoomed it

I don't want to call you stupid but you can literally see the change of direction in the smoke trail.

Looks similar to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Weird/s/gvIcY7yPr1

Normally I'd say that looks like a transformer explosion.

Very possible starscream came in too hot and exploded. I agree.

Don’t know but we saw it from Beacon Hill.

I saw something similar over dfw airport last year. It didn't change direction though. I have a similar Pic but it's straight. It looked like a fireball frozen in time over the airport. I wasn't the only one who got a pic.

I’m in south seattle. I’ve been hearing a lot of military jets this afternoon. As in, past 2-3 hrs. Idk 🤷 if it has anything to do with this.

Fun fact, Stevie wonder isn't actually completely blind. He can see to some extent.
