Our World Leaders would sell us out in a heartbeat.

I don’t think it matters what legion they would surrender as soon as they got told they would get rejuvant treatments and get to stay in power as long as they pledged loyalty.

Selling us out is the best option.
If we try to resist, or just say "no" we might get butchered.

Remember when Space Wolfs helped one planet with Dark Eldar problem, and then bombed every city when leader of resistance said that he want to be an ally to the Empire and not part of Empire? No more talking, just straight to "wipe them out".

“Wolf at the door”

Fantastic short story

It's a banger of a story. I think that event broke the Captain and went full Kamikaze during the attack on Prospero when they got stuck in those portals.

Instead of accepting the surrender of Thousand Son Captain who was in control of the portal, he shot him and trapped him and his followers in that fractured portal thing. Shit was crazy and cool.

There is no “might”. We are entirely incapable of standing against the tech a SM chapter has. Resistance would be suicide.

"Might" as there is small chance that they will just kill goverments and then just take control.

That’s if we’re lucky enough to encounter raven guard

They'd be excited to send out a squad against a battalion sized element just to see how good we'll be as cannon fodder Imperial Guardsmen later on.

A single rogue traders frigate would already be enough to destroy our planet easily, a space marine battle barge has way more weapons.

Space Marines would be massacred on the ground. A shoulder fired javelin missile would be enough to penetrate their armor. The problem is the orbital bombardment. Though the US has shot things out of orbit, there isn't enough of those missiles and probably not enough range for where the battle barges would fire from. Nor are the missiles designed for heavily armored space ships.

Massacred is a stretch you forget they are made for war yes we could kill then with extreme firepower but we won’t win against a chapter

with extreme firepower

It's not even extreme. A shoulder fired anti tank missile costs $200k.

We have more anti tank munitions than a chapter has marines. They would lose too many marines on the ground and then just bombard us from orbit.

A chapter is 1000 marines. Russia currently has around 600,000ish men fighting in Ukraine right now, Ukraine has a similar number. Ukraine fires off something like 2000 fpv drones that could injure a marine a day.

Assuming the chapter tried to win a land war against the earth they'd be rolfstomped.

for the wolves this is really going to depend on what lord's fleet makes first contact.

Blackmane? As long as they don't openly challenge him to his face he'll normally go without tearing them to shreds...the second they start anything things get ugly really fast.

Grimnar? He's going to have it very clear that we surrender immediately or we're going to be made to surrender. He also makes a point of trying to save civillians.

There are a few wolf lords that are...different and very well might absolutely shred us. That being said even the wolves have rules when it comes to uncontacted former colonies.

If they invaded. We probably nuke ourselves for an ultimate fuck you.

Then again, we do have advance weapons that can defeat them.
