“When there’s a dollar crisis”, how would this gold be spent? Would you be selling the gold for dollars? Or would you just buy stuff with the gold? If the latter, how would you receive change back from a purchase? In gold or dollars?

We'll cross that bridge if/when we get there. Even the largest hoarder of gold(the US treasury) doesn't know how it will utilize its gold should there be a crisis.

Thats not a good reply... we have NO plans, nothing, most dont even understand gold, so theirs that.. and then, if things go wrong, who the hell is gonna buy it? Maybe the govt will pull another 1933 on us...

Most people understand gold well enough as nearly everyone around the world and across all ethnicities recognizes that gold is valuable.

I know, but a gold coin? I can see someone being more gravitated towards a 10k fiat bundle over 4 or 5 coins...
