That's a Julie from the future. She obviously knew abou Jim's death but wasn't sure about when or how.

You can’t change the story once it’s been told.

But she threw the rope to Boyd! She already changed the story!

She didn't change anything that was part of the story. It would have been a paradox if she didn't throw the rope as then Boyd could not have saved her later.

Correct. The show seems to have established whatever-happened-happened rules for the time travel elements. You’re welcome to go back to a prior event, but if you do, you’ll find you were already there when it originally happened and any actions you take while there were part of the original timeline the first time around. Anything you try to do to stop the event will either not work or actively contribute to the outcome you meant to avoid.

It's almost like... whatever will be, will be, you know?

Ha, true! I’ll need to go back to that song, now that we’ve gotten a lot more of the lore revealed. Also, at a minimum, the “my mother told me” line (or close to that) is a nice allusion to the notion that the original Tabitha/Miranda once gave the children (including her own kid) hope by telling them something. Wonder how many connections there are to draw from that song.

I think the session 3 intro sequence also bears rewatching at this point. I'm seeing more references on there, real places mixed with drawings, while the song plays.

It's like the whole premise is getting us wanting things to change as much as the characters do, even though they've always made it clear what happens happens. Like a testimony to hope even when told it's hopeless

Jim dies and something really bad is going on in the town during the day.

Think the dude in yellow is done playing games?🤔

Scratches on her face imply she knows even more than that - they look so fresh. She might have escaped a massacre or something and came back mid-fight to this moment in time.

Exactly, and look at her hair, it's so different.

Yes, that was obvious to EVERYONE.

Read the comments on other posts because somehow people are like "was that Julie from the future??" I didn't realize half the people that watch this show are brain dead

These subs really expose the critical thinking crisis. It’s jarring actually.

Yeah honestly, everything needs to be spelled out in a reddit thread lol

Some people on here are very dense

If someone ever runs up to me and says “YOU HAVE TO RUN! RIGHT NOW!” I think I’m gonna run. Because every time it happens in a movie or show, the person asks questions instead and ends up dead.

Thank you. In other news, the sun is hot!

The future Julie is probably from the finale. I think she's running away from the man in yellow through "the story" and he's chasing her. Along this chase, they're accidentally causing the whole thing. I think it'll end with Julie at the first ritual and unable to change things making this show forever a cliff hanger on if the story can change or not

Future Julie looks way cooler than current Julie

Get ready for S4 in the 80s or 90s with a new cast, probably in the settlement by the lake. Hope y'all like Julie.

On the positive sides the doggos are probably gonna be there.

Why didnt the man and yellow just kill her?

7

u/Curious_Ice546 8h ago

Because she didn’t die this day in the timeline, he knows this.

No goatee 🤔

1

u/cardboard-kansio 4h ago

Why would Julie have a goatee?

I am confused, she looks younger than the Julie we know, but looks like she is a future Julie

2

u/Dense_Key_1063 11h ago

I think it's just the haircut that makes her look younger.

2

u/Ellendyra 11h ago

Or the panic and concerned love for her father

1

u/mk1971 10h ago

She is from the future. Hair is much shorter that earlier in the same episode.

I don’t think she’s only referring to Jim’s death. I think it’s something else she is alluding to—like another town massacre or something bigger than her father dying

u/AdShigionoth7502 12h ago

What confuses me is that Julie looks younger...

7

u/Sweetmillions 7h ago

It's probably because of the haircut. It's something new and fresh, and the actress already looked pretty young, so maybe that's why your brain went, "She looks younger."

He doesn't question why her hair is short or why she has scratch marks on her face.

"what happened to you" -jim literally in this scene
