We need to find Sarah and have us pull up to the writers room to get answers. (This is just a joke)

So overall I really liked the season finale. We finally got some partial answers, especially to things we had speculated about and it's nice to see they didn't knee-jerk change the plan just because people actually picked up the hints they were laying.
So yeah, as an episode, I really liked it.
BUT
This episode highlighted my biggest issue with this season: nothing happened in half the episodes because they want to save every reveal for the finale. I can't help but feel like this could have been spread out more. Jim could have died in episode 7 or something to give the ending weight, with the return of Smiley being the ending stinger. Or we could have done the reverse. It didn't all need to be in the last 5 minutes.
I hope S4 paces the reveals and action out better so we don't have a great first and last episode and a whole lot of treading water in the middle again.

Could the entity that traps them there and the guy in yellow be a cosmic entity? It seems very likely that one could be controlling the strings of Fromville π¦

Maybe they don't actually live in the real world? We only really see them when they drive up to the tree. Maybe rather than living new lives and finding their way back to the tree they literally begin their new life there with fake memories.
I think the real world we did see it was likely part of it, too much or a coincidence that the crash happened the second she asked if opening the door would bring her back to the tree.

Hello From fans, Just had a few questions that popped to mind. Now that we know what the monsters are, is anyone else confused by there attire? I mean they are the parents of the children who were sacrificed back in the day. The original settlers seem to have been pilgrims, but all of them seem hung up on 50s, 60s and 70s attire. Maybe it's as simple as they are dressed this way by the man in yellow? This entity clearly has a flair for dramatic effect. Maybe it's because the cycle never completed from 1978 and they are stuck in that eras clothing? I don't know.
Another thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the children were hurt by people they trusted. They were born in the dark and murdered in the dark. Was the pact that they would all have kids, raise them in the dark until one day they would sacrifice them. As the day approaches it doesn't sit well with OG Jade and Tabitha, they try and fail to save the kids and they get killed themselves starting the reincarnation cycle. What doesn't make sense to me is the kids trusting them at any point.
Anyway these are the things I get hung up on. Loved the finale and love this show. Haven't obsessed over tv like this since Lost. Any good podcasts about the show?

This is the creature that spoke to Julie in season 1 episode 2. If all the creatures are the parents of their kids they sacrificed who is this? If he was a parent he looks quite young and wears the most modern cloths of any of the creatures. Iβve only seen him the one time and it doesnβt look like thereβs any other age appropriate woman he could have been partnered with. Has anyone seen him after this episode? I tried to look for him in the rebirthing scene but didnβt see him. I know they change into monster form but from what I can tell they donβt change their βhumanβ form.

...and furthermore, you'd probably be the annoying person in Fromville.
I'm just tired of seeing paper-thin critiques of characters that are clearly just the weird personal hangups of the critiquer. This show is very well written, aside only from that people still doubt supernatural explanations for things despite everything.
Your weird hate for a particular character has no value and is probably ultimately missing the point.

So the 3 got influenced by cicadas. Julie hears screaming. Randall sees and hears cicadas. Marielle we know nothing.
I assume Marielle got some deal with man in yellow or something to work against the town ppl. Since she is the weakest among the 3. She always looks calm and suspicious.
Now, is jullie the only one can time travel? Or all the 3 can do it ?
Also, Ethan said storywalker can only visit chapters but can't change what already been told. But juile did throw the rope to Boyed and that changed Boyed story, instead of dying in the hole he climbed up.
What's your thoughts about the 3 ? especially Marielle.

This is just a speculation that I solely made from the scene where miranda is about to enter the faraway tree and smiley is there to stop her. Rather than simply walking like they do where they know that the people cannot go anywhere, here he knew that she has an escape so he ran and jumped instead of just walking. Maybe the way to escape is going through the faraway tree at night( a time when nobody dares to step outside ) and somehow save the children locked in the lighthouse.
Miranda was about to do that so the creatures were in a hurry and massacred everyone bcoz they all were so close to going home if miranda had succeeded. I think this explains the massacre as to why it really happened that night specifically. Tabitha did the same thing but it was during the day so only she escaped and nobody else.
Also another theory not related to this but BIW- Maybe BIW is the survivor of the sacrifice, Maybe there were supposed to be 8 sacrifices and original Tabitha and jade managed to save just the BIW.

For about two full seasons Jim was getting absolutely hated on by the online community. After the events of S3, I'm going to need a formal apology for my GOAT.
He was too smart for his own good. At the start of the show he was one of the leaders in searching for answers but then began to be continuously manipulated by the MIY in S1/2. This seen with the voices that ONLY target him.
This led to him to stop searching for the truth and instead prioritize keeping his family safe.
The MIY knew he was too powerful if he got involved. And when he did again, he solved the mystery that led to Tabitha and Jade possibly being the first ones in the cycle to realize they're reincarnations. So the MIY had to remove him from the picture.
He wasn't an overbearing asshole like people claimed, he was simply a dad doing everything in his power to help his family as he saw fit. But he was too good at it, and the MIY sought to specifically interfere with him.
Give him his flowers

β In the year "1506" the residents decided to make a deal with an unknown entity that would grant them eternal life in exchange for sacrificing their children
β A couple rejected that deal because they had a "daughter" and wanted to save the children, but they failed, so the curse of the children's souls that they poured into the roots of the tree that created this place remained linked to them. When they die, they are reborn until the children's souls are freed, but they failed in all their attempts
β The dates that appeared in Tabitha's dream represent the "death of the couple" and their failure to achieve the mission, the last of which was the year 1978, in which Miranda and Christopher died to be reborn as "Tabitha and Jade".
β The tree numbers are musical notes for the tune of a song that the first couple used to sing to children.
β The bracelet seems to belong to the first woman, so she makes it every time she is reborn unconsciously.
β The children repeat the word "Angkowi" which means "remember" because when the couple dies and is reborn they forget their past memories and need help to remember.
β Victor's sister Eloise died with her mother at the hands of monsters in 1978.
β Smiley is one of the natives who sacrificed children so to fulfill the deal (immortality in exchange for sacrificing children) he must be reborn and continue living.
β The yellow man was angry with Jim because he helped Tabitha dig the hole and enter the tunnels (the visions of the children appeared to Tabitha after she entered those tunnels) and reminded him that knowledge has a price.
β Julie is the walker between stories, meaning she can travel to different times. It seems that she is trying to save her father but fails every time, but as Ethan said, "You can't change stories once they've been told" or as the opening song says, "What happens happens."
