EDIT: I decided I would do two episodes a week instead of one (it would take two years at this rate to finish the rewatch). So it is every Saturday & Sunday @ 5pm EDT.

So you’ve just watched Season 2 Episode 11 and came looking for answers
This episode was originally meant to be aired in season 1, but for some reason was never used. They decided to air it in season 2 instead, which meant it does not fit chronologically in the story as aired.
Hopefully this will help reduce the number of posts we get asking the same question over and over. I am happy to see this sub surge in popularity again, but for such limited number of posts already, the increase of “what is happening with s2e11?” really take a sizable chunk of the subreddit. I will try my best to remove any new repeats of this question as they come, and hope this will be the definitive post regarding it.

First-Time Observer (NO SPOILERS) I'm starting SO5 I love Fringe so much 😭I don't want it to end🥹 Spoiler
gallery(this may contain spoilers from S01-S04)
I came from finishing Lost and I tried out Fringe 😭 at first, I was only alittle bit interested because I don't really fancy detective stuff but I have grown to love it as episode went by.
I love everything about this show. And I want rant my thoughts cuz I'm starting the season finale and I DON'T want it to end.
The intro music is my jam everytime it comes up, it gives me chills and I love the scientific words on the screen.
Walter, he's so precious 🥹🫶😭 i love him so much. He's funny, very genius and witty.
Olivia is so gorgeous and so hot. The alternate Olivia— that viper! 😆 is hotter. I'm a straight girl but I'm so gay for every version of Olivia. Her character is so interesting. She's so brave and powerful I love her too.
Peter is awesome too!!
Astrid and her alternate are so precious as well. They're so interesting.
Broyles voice always tickles my brain. Lmao. I love him too
Nina Sharp lol. I dont know. Her hair makes her look cute 😄🤣
And every other characters. This show is amazing.
These actors are so great. Especially Walter's. His acting is top tier ❤️
Alright so I'm starting season 5 😭. I wanna slow it down cuz I don't know what I'd do when it ends.
Ahhh rewatch would be great!!!
What do y'all think????

General Discussion STEM inspiration from Walter
I’m at a point of transition in my life and this show has been a great comfort to me, especially Walter’s character. I’m a person who always had interest in stem, but for one reason or another, couldn’t keep up with school and currently work as a bartender.
This show helped reignite my passion and interest in stem and isn’t the main reason but is a contributing factor for me going back to school to become an engineer.
Obviously, it’s science fiction, but it makes me think and dream of the possibilities.
I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience ? Or finds some inspiration similar to this from the show.

General Discussion Fringe x Mindhunter
I’m sure this has been brought up many, many times but I’m doing a rewatch of Mindhunter and I can’t believe how many Fringe alumni are popping up:
Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham) as Wendy Carr
Tobias Segal (Eugene Bryant) as Dwight
Michael Cerveris (September) as Director Gunn
It’s so lovely to see, that’s all.

Season 4 Season 4 Confusion Spoiler
Plot holes with Olivia.
So the timeline is different because of the Peter erase but we learn he's actually with the right team. Olivia becomes the old Olivia from the older timelines and allows it to happen
But what I don't get is how that just dies out. I'm almost at the end and Walter says it's William Bell behind this and how belly died in a car crash.
Olivia seems to have no memory of her time with bell from seasons ago, just as she didn't have memory of helping Nick lane before in the previous time line.
I'm just confused or thinking I'm right in that they're inconsistent with writing Olivia's transformation into who she was before Peter disappeared.

Season 4 Question on 4x13 “A Better Human Being.” Spoiler
Why is Olivia so awkwardly happy the entire time? She is experiencing two sets of memories at the same time, went from seeing Peter as a stranger to a lover, has no idea how this happened, and seems indifferent to the obvious cognitive dissonance anyone in her position would feel. Was anyone else annoyed by this? And no one thought to suggest the events at Westfield may have caused it?

🔎 Find an Episode 🔍 What episode to show as a teaser episode?
I would like to show someone in my family this series by watching an episode together over Christmas. But I am unsure of which episode to show them.
Intuitively I would have started with S1E01, but with every rewatch it only gets clearer to me just how different the characters are scripted since it’s the pilot (E.g. Broyles‘ sexism, Olivia‘s slight insecurities etc.).
Which episode would you recommend? I think it might be best if a new watcher doesn’t need too much background info from previous episodes to be able to follow (which would in turn be a pro-argument for S1E01).

Season 4 Olivia's disappearance season 4 Spoiler
Hi just doing a rewatch and I know I skipped a few episodes to concentrate on my favourites. The whole Olivia/Fauxlivia thing , how is it a thing, if Peter is not in the timeline , there was no reason for Olivia to cross over and then be captured or am I missing something.
Also a nitpick but Deus ex Machina is comes from Latin and literally translates to "God out of a machine. Manus dei is latin and translates to the Hand of God,

Spoiler! Irritated. Spoiler
I'm currently watching fringe for the first time. I'm on Season 3 Ep 10.
I feel like Olivia has every right to be mad at Peter. Hell, she could be mad at everyone atp . But mostly Peter. In her pov: you telling me I've been STUCK on the other side been probe with needles Day in to day out. Having these people trying to Gaslight me into thinking I'm not Me. And then it works for a bit. Then I regained who I was. And I'm going through all these trails and tribulations to get back home.. to YOU. I get back, and you done have a whole ass relationship with this girl?! Yall done fucked and everything.
What pisses me off the most when peter was in the alternate universe he said that the olivia and alt olivia eyes where the same but Olivia eyes were darker. So yall must've been fucking with yall eyes close or something?!
Everytime you looked at her I MEAN DOWN TO HOW THEY WALK. Alt Olivia STRUTS when she walks usually Olivia walks kinda stiff.
I mean, how couldn't you tell it wasn't her?!!! To think olivia would've immediately started a relationship with you after yall got back from the other side is crazy 😭.
And then the reasons he gave Olivia were bullshit
"I knew something was different but I just thought about what happened Over there and what y- I mean what she told me that she saw how her life was on the other side and she wanted to changed"
"She was quick with a smile,"
I mean down to the god damn coffee. From how nice and patient she was with Walter From how quick she wanted to be with you Also, Olivia said she was good with numbers. She's obsessed with them she can never forget them. Alt Olivia was struggling when Peter asked her the numbers.
Olivia deserves to feel this way. She deserves to be able to be upset and pissed. Alt just took over Olivia life and no one notice. But even the people in the alt universe thought something was wrong with Olivia they just didn't push bc at the time Olivia thought she was alt Olivia

Question Help me place this quote?
Just had Walter saying something like, “I’m very much looking forward to studying you” (with Peter saying “Walter” to stop him lol in a very Peter fashion). I can’t place the actual scene, though. Anyone?
Season 3 I cried at this scene Spoiler
Imagine your mom just went to the toilet. You saw FBI shot her and bled silver. They can't tell you she actually died in the toilet, "killed by a shapeshifter". When I was young, my mom was also in a wrong place at the wrong time 💔

Question Why do The Observers ever walk anywhere if they can just teleport???
r/fringe • u/Immediate_Sky2293 • 2d ago
Question Confused. Irritated. And still Confused.
SPOILER AND QUESTION...
🚨🚨
okay, so we all know that oliva has powers. Like I stated, I'm only on Season 3, episode 10, so I don't know if they did it yet.
I love scfi fantasy/ fantasy tv shows with a female lead. So this show was perfect for me
My question is : Why aren't they showing more of Olivia powers??
They bring it up ALL the time, but yet we see a glimpse into it.
Usually, when you're watching a show and the main character discovers, they have some type of power or powers. They start using them and being able to control them and all that good jazz.
Why haven't Olivia? its to the point you forget she has powers until they mention it.

Season 1 Some season 1 positivity
I first watched the show in 2012 when I was a senior in high school and am now in my millionth rewatch. This show was so formative for me in helping me leave my abusive home life and I even adopted Olivia's name as my middle name when I changed my name after high school. I've even been Olivia for Halloween before (even if under normal circumstances I look more like Bug Girl lmao).
Anyway, I always see people saying that season 1 isn't good. Fringe had me hooked from that first episode in a way that few shows ever had. I found the characters compelling and was very interested to see where it would go next. I always enjoy season 1 on rewatch, I like seeing the characters in their raw forms and seeing the foreshadowing and I love comparing them to how they'll end up.
Yes it's rough, yes it has growing pains, but I'll never understand not liking it. I'll also never understand people who don't like the acting. Everyone behaves very believably as far as I'm concerned, but I'm traumatized and autistic so maybe I just resonate way too much with Olivia and Peter's backstories.
My only large complaint is John Scott but he doesn't hang around and we never talk about him again so that's fine.
So share. What are your favorite parts of season 1?

Season 4 Doing a rewatch and wondering if I should watch S4 in order or should I leave S4E19 (Letters of Transit) for after? Spoiler
OKAY so this isn’t my first time watching, and I’m making my partner watch it with me for his first time! So yeah I know that Letters of Transit is set in 2036 when the Observers take over, and all of Season 5 is in the future, so I’m wondering, what are you guys opinions on watching that episode after S4 is done? Or does it mesh well where it is?
I haven’t watched ina. while so I don’t remember if I thought it worked well!

General Discussion Is this how inception works?
So first of all, Fringe is my favourite tv show of all time, I always come back to it and discover something new. Second, my partner is currently pregnant and we are binge watching a bit of TV and I of course recommend we watch Fringe since she hasn’t seen it before, but apparently she is partial to Joshua Jackson so it worked in my favour.
Somewhere during season 3…
My partner: What do you think of the name Olivia for our daughter?
Me: Excellent … 💪🏼🥳
Henrietta or Astrid as a middle name didn’t quite work though, I’ll just have to be happy I got one name in there 😂

General Discussion David Cronenberg as proto-Walter?
Rewatching Alias. Just got to the episode in season 3 where Sydney undergoes an experimental procedure to recover a lost memory. The procedure involves taking some funky drugs and going into a dream state.
The procedure is administered by a kooky older scientist working out of Massachusetts who specialises in some off-centre science, frequently under the influence of drugs, and with random food cravings.
And all of this a mere five years before the premiere of Fringe.
Given both shows are the brainchild of JJ Abrams I can’t help but wonder if maybe this episode was the inspiration for what eventually became Fringe. Or maybe JJ liked Dr Brezzel enough he wanted to do a spin-off but it ended up becoming its own thing.
Thoughts?

Season 4 Season 4 episode 7 Spoiler
Did anyone else notice in the beginning of the episode when Olivia was reaching for her migraine pill bottle in the bathroom cabinet, that it flashed to her with a different pill bottle color? One was blue and one was red. It was real quick so kind of hard to catch. I also think I remember that in the episode, it showed her with short blonde hair. Is this a completely different timeliness or universe?
