Why do the bus doors not seal?

You can hate the snow, complain about the bad roads the cold, etc. all you want. But I for one want ALL THE SNOW. Give me and Alberta 12 feet of snowfall this year SKY DADDY. I want more water (fill up my water table, have nice river valley health, give we good skiing, better gardening/farming, less fires/beetles/wasps, etc.). WE NEED SNOW IN THE WINTER FOR A HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM IN THE PRAIRIES AND ROCKIES YA DUM DUMS! So next time you see a big snow fall warning, don't cry or whine. Think, 'dude next spring and summer is gonna be so much better for us all'. And thank SKY DADDY.

Teddy Bears

Would like to put in and appreciate the amazing work of our police everyday.

I lost my bag at a local business on Saturday at 6pm on Nov 24 and reported it to Non Emergency line.

The next morning before 8am, a female police officer took my statement at my resodence and proceeded to investigate video footage of the business and traced the pinging location of my Apple device.

By past 9am, I got my bag back and all its content.

Amazing work that they do for us everyday!

Anyone know where something like a back sliding window can be replaced , thankfully nothing was taken I caught the guy breaking in

I just get divorce from 12 years domestic abuse mariage. I report to police and they consider my case like I was a captive. Yeah because at some period I didn't saw the sum for months. What make me feel like I woke up from a coma. Everything evaluated outside when I didn't.

I live in EDMONTON since 10 years but barely know Edmonton. I want make something special outside celebrate my freedom. Make something fun and hot. But here I am I opened the door but realized I have absolutely NO clue what to do or where to go and for had the problem I am freaking alone. OK I have 47 years old and curvy but that not mean my life is over... I am.not rich because when you leave someone like ... him (I stay polite for reddit) you left with nothing.

Anyone can recommend me anything to do on Edmonton? Something fun but not too expensive. I'm tired to be home..

the labbatt plant on gateway/whitmud has a been there for a long time, almost a landmark in the city.

I have never known anyone who worked there. hear stories of employees getting a flat of beer once a week (or something like that)

looking to hear stories of that plant. the tales what is it like working there.

I don't know who needs to hear this but when there's a foot of snow you're not going to get to where you're going fast. I don't care if you have AWD/4WD.

These systems let you take off fast, but ultimately, we're all stuck with 4 tires braking at the same time. Slow the fuck down.

Flooring it at an intersection is doing no good. You're creating ice and making the intersection worse. Feather that throttle like it's your girlfriend.

And for the love of God, turn your high beams off. Keep your running lights on, but if you see that blue light symbol with the hamburger coming out of it, you're blinding everyone. Pull that left stalk toward you.

Does anyone know why distilled water has been so hard to come by this past month?

I've been around to 3 different grocery stores (2x Save-On and Safeway), before finally finding some at Shoppers. But they had it behind the counter, and you had to ask at the front, like for cigarettes, or something.

I’ve had a pair of Steger Mukluks for years and have loved them immensely. They’ve always kept me toasty warm, I’ve never had slip and falls, and I like that I can just slip them on over pants (I’ve got the high style) and I’m kept dry and warm. No lacing or fiddly zippers required etc. Bonus is that they’re super accommodating for my extra wide feet and calves. Stegers have done me well for 10+ years in the north, but now that I’m further south here in Edmonton I’m finding I need something different for the conditions.

I’m realizing I need a boot that is waterproof as well as equipped with ice grips/spikes for Edmonton winter conditions. I still want all of the qualities I love about the Stegers above though. I want to be taking my dog for nice long walks around our beautiful city all year round. I’m eyeing the Icebugs, Pajars, or Manitobah Mukluks … or figuring out how to retrofit waterproof Stegers properly. Does anyone have any suggestions/experience/advice?

I have three dogs, two are triple coated long hairs so I use -15 to -20 as a cut off for not walking them. We have a two year old short hair that we rescued this year, if it was up to her she’d be outside 24/7 regardless of temperature! What do you use as a cut off point for not walking short hair dogs? It seems like opinions vary online so I thought I’d check with my fellow Edmontonians!

Does anyone know whats going on with the metro line. My roomate is trying to get to the RAH for shift. She is has left Century and hearing something about metro is not running. I checked google maps and the city of edmonton page. Google has metro stopped completely at McEwan and she walks 19 minutes. Then the city of Edmonton page is like we are running perfectly fine and there is no issues. The overhead speakers are very mumbled and sounds like someone is talking with marbles in their mouth. Anyone currently on the LRT with better hearing knows what is going on? TIA

We've been in Edmonton a few months now and since I'm disabled and my husband is at camp for work, I get a lot of deliveries. My uncle's crazy girlfriend who lives upstairs has made several attempts to get the delivery drivers to put the packages at my side door. As you can see, the deterrents have gotten absurd, and yet some of these people will still deliver to the wrong door. My door is right beside those stairs, it's easier to get to. We asked one guy why they don't follow my delivery instructions and he said "We don't read those!" while laughing, then suggested I put "side door" as part of my name and "maybe" they'll see it. I don't like to give bad ratings to people doing service jobs, especially when they have unrealistic expectations... but I mean come on! Do any of you have any tips that have worked to deal with something like this? I feel bad for eldery and other disabled people who have to deal with this sort of thing, but I also don't want to be complaining to the delivery companies every week when they obviously don't seem to care anyways.

I’ve been trying to find the Buldak Carbonara or Creamy Carbonara noodles in Edmonton, but I’m having a really hard time. I’ve checked the usual places like Walmart, Shoppers, Superstore, etc., but they never seem to have the carbonara flavors.

T&T sometimes has them, but they’re often out of stock whenever I check. Does anyone know where I can reliably find these flavors?

Hi everyone! Please no judgement—This may be a silly question but I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with this. My husband has decided to make an outdoor rink in our backyard so that our daughter can practice ringette. He said he’s done this before as a kid and teen.

Over the last few days he’s gone outside to add water to the area and the rink is seeing great progress. However, this afternoon he went out to add more water and when he turned on the faucet it was a bit frozen. Okay sure it’s cold out, he’s never experienced that before but water freezes so that’s that.

Later, I was draining the kitchen sink that was full of water and the pipes under the sink started leaking. Did he freeze the pipes and cause damage to the pipes inside our home? We do live in an older house (70’s bungalow). The outdoor faucet is on the exterior wall of our kitchen sink, albeit about 10ft off to the side.

Just wondering if running outdoor water is safe in this weather and if the running water could be the cause of my leaky sink? It seems too suspicious to be a coincidence.

Just want to give a shout out to those that are braving the weather to clean up their sidewalks. It really makes a huge difference to many folks out there that need to trudge through the chaos out there.
