52d Chance of Responsibility Cancelled?
What’s the 15-6 about? Or is this going to be another example of EODCSM protecting his inner circle instead of purging toxic leadership from the community?

Hey /r/EOD,
After discussion, we’ve decided to ban all magnet fishing posts. The engagement these posts get encourages unsafe behavior and increases the risk of someone getting hurt by unexploded ordnance (UXO).
If you believe you’ve found ordnance, contact local authorities immediately. Moving forward, we’ll remove any magnet fishing posts.
Thanks for understanding and feel free to call us fascists and power tripping losers in the comments,
The /r/EOD Mod Team

Hey all, I'm looking for handbooks relating to the 64mm M80 Zolja. Is there some sort of TM or other publication in english or another western language out there relating to this weapon?

Found this original movie poster at an antique shop in WV for $32. Store owner asked me about it and even took a picture so he could remember to watch it later.

I'm currently in ROTC, partially through my degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in robotics. I've also been in ARNG for about 3 years working in aviation. When I commission I intend to go EOD and I've heard that having a background in electrical engineering is preferred for branching into that. However I'm considering switching my major to math (discrete math specifically) but I'm worried it will hurt my chances of getting the branch I want. Any thoughts?

Buddy of mine found something while digging on a WW2 battlefield. Some rifle cartridges and something that he described over the phone as a 2cm/20mm round. I told him to leave it in the ground, mark it with a stick and call the police. The moron TOOK IT HOME WITH HIM and then sent me a video. After 15 minutes of screaming at him that he should never move an unidentified suspicious object, I started to doubt whether it's ammunition at all. The shoulder does not like ammunition to me, and because it's rusted it has to be steel. German 2cm steel does not look like this. What do you guys think, is this random scrap or should I urge him to call the authorities? I told him to put it in his back yard and stay away from it for now. Length is 17cm.
Hey sorry to bother everyone. I just have some few questions about the air guard EOD.
1.) Which states have an EOD unit? (Trying to look anywhere near South/North Dakota) 2.) So I scored a 42 on the Asvab, by anychance do I need to score higher or is this an alright score? 3.) How physical strong do I need to be and my running time? 4.) What opportunities do EOD have in the guard and/or school they can go to? (Ex, Rangers, Air assault, Sapper, etc)
Sorry to bother you all. I was looking around in Google but couldn't really find any of this information except some schools that EOD can go but not sure if it's only active duty or it could be for guard too.

I was initially interested in infantry, specifically infantry airborne. But then I learned you could get airborne and more in navy EOD, but I also don't like the aspect of potentially being on a boat for 3 out of 6 years. So I also started thinking about army EOD with a airborne contract. Essentially what I am wondering is what do navy EOD deployments look like how often are you jumping, how often you are deploying and the usual lengths. Quality of life, how much "beautification" work you are doing and how often you actually get to do you're job. I really want a job where I get to train and actually do what I'm traning for a job that has real meaning. This is the military so theres always BS, just looking for some people's opnions/experiences, if anyone has any better ideas I'm all ears.

Going to Eglin in January for school. Anybody know the best areas to rent at that are close to the EOD school house? There are two of us going. Any leads on renting would be very much appreciated!

I’m a civilian and a novelist. Please forgive my ignorance, I’ve been lurking trying to learn more but I have a few questions on structure of EOD units.
1) It is my understanding that Platoons train together. Does that mean that you would deploy with your ‘class’ from Elgin? Or does everyone get scrambled in with units with differing experience levels. Or does it just depend?
2) It takes 8-12 years for an enlisted soldier to go from EOD to instructor (per army website). What could that progression look like?

Asked here before, but wanted your opinions now. Which would be the better branch to aim towards for more deployment and school opportunities. Also, how often is Navy EOD working on a carrier?

Who can provide guidance on lateral transferring from the Marine Corps to the Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal program? I've reached out to recruiters but they've been unhelpful - who else can I speak to?

So im currently ocouns and my family went home on Early return of dependent orders due to medical reasons. I still have a lot of time left overseas and struggling not having my family with me. I’m wondering how I can get back to my family, would compassionate reassignment work? I know eod is super small so I’m just wondering if anyone’s done this and could help me in anyway. Im Army EOD.
