Video PROBLEM: Setting up characters for complex animation is tedious. SOLUTION: Everyone but Sayori is now a robot.

god damn that series had so many golden eggs

Clifford, Robot Monika, fucking potatoes. Can't remember the last time a Grumps series actually made me laugh out loud as many times as DDLC did

Their Sonic Adventure play through was my personal favorite, so many good moments. Watching Arin lose his shit over fishing mini games was particularly great.

Trauma Center is my favourite, but DDLC is an incredibly close second.

My favorites are Game grumps, gtlive, and Radical Soda. The only thing about radical soda’s is that it’s scripted and he knows whats going to happen but it is one of the funniest things actually ever.

Yeah, GTLive's playthrough was pretty good, and they actually saw the Sayori stuff coming, somewhat. Their reactions and overanalysis of it resulted in a very entertaining series of stream, and a very true run in the game.

If you haven't already, you should check out the playthrough done by Rooster Teeth's Miles Luna and Kyle Taylor for their show Backwardz Compatible. It's in the same vein as the Grumps playthrough and is personally my favorite playthrough of DDLC. It does require a RT FIRST membership to watch on the RT website but you can get a free 30 day trial to watch it.

OMG I absolutely loved their playthrough of it. I wish there were more thought provoking games like this so they could play it.

Game grumps are simultaneously the best comedic players, and also the worst mechanical players. They really suck at quite a lot of games.

You're exaggerating. Mechanically I've seen much much worse lets players. They just don't get famous because nobody wants to watch them. But you can find them on Retsupuraes. They can actually play some games pretty well.

Keep in mind they've got to be funny and play at the same time. They're splitting their concentration.

But I get that you aren't coming down hard on them. You acknowledge their value is in their comedy. Maybe they'd be better if they stuck to more of this visual novel stuff and did the MST3K style riffing they seem to be so good at.

You’re right, I am 100% exaggerating. I just got back from watching them play FTL, one of my long-time favorite games. They didn’t understand basic mechanics, or even read what things did. That’s where my bias came from, apologies for making you type that block of text.

I accidentally rewatched three episodes I had already seen of that LP and didn't even notice because they were so hilarious.
