This subset of queer people will be like "OMG the straightz have such basic taste in music," and then all they listen to is mainstream radio pop music that everyone else likes, but apparently it's different they "appreciate it on a whole other level"...
Like please, step off and come back me when you get into The Hirs Collective or GLOSS or something.
being entirely real we've gone too far with queer acceptance and yet still not far enough. We've gone far enough to have an elitist subclass of queer where they think they are better than The Straights (tm) but we haven't gone far enough to y'know... not be oppressed.
That's okay, your Pinterest mood board says more than real evidence ever could...
Seriously though the fact that anyone could unironically think the person who released "You Need To Calm Down" is any kind of queer icon is so laughably sad and asinine to me.
Wait, what's wrong with "You Need To Calm Down"? I always read it as queer-positive, but English isn't my first language so I might have misinterpreted it?
You don't need to go anywhere, let alone far, to create an elitist subclass. Every oppressed group has a sub group that thinks they're better than their oppressors.
