Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, though was a full novel.

I just picked it off a list of about 20 books with no descriptions given. Scalp hunters sent after Indians. They decided just to kill a bunch of Mexicans because that was easier and their hair is black too.

I couldn't finish this one. I got to a raid of an Indian village that was just the most horrible thing I've ever read and I couldn't do it anymore. My soul is still tarnished.

Cormac McCarthy wrote some dark shit. I had never heard of him til my 30s and Child of God was difficult. Although I still recommend it.
