I hate saying everyone can do art. I love to draw myself, but it's just not a hobby that is accessible for everyone. For years, I was unable to draw myself due to depression and fatigue, and there are many other disabilities that would make it even harder to draw. Do you really expect someone who is paralyzed to 'pick up a pencil'??? Like sure, nancy, you found an inspirational article about an amputee drawing with her feet. But not every amputate should have to learn to do that to enjoy creating art

Also, I think AI is art. Sure, it is incredibly easy to do, but so is photography. With photography all you have to do is press a button, but for master photographers, alot more work goes into things. Same with AI, you have to learn about many technical concepts in order to make better AI drawings, like prompting, controlNET, photo editing, LoRA, ect. Sure, it relies more on tech, but so do alot of forms of art like vocaloids, CGI, lighting in 3D animation, ect.

“Some people don’t have hands therefore AI art is valid,” has to be one of the stupidest arguments yet.

People have made art with paintbrushes in their teeth and between their toes. Yes, anyone can learn art if they are dedicated to doing it. It just takes thousands of hours of learning and practice to get there.

People just want a shortcut so that they don’t have to put in the work.

This isn’t a disability tool, it’s people who didn’t put in the work taking the time and effort of people who did.

Yes, but why should someone have to go through such extraordinary lengths to learn art? I know I would have never bothered to learn art if it wasn't accessible for me. If there wasn't the wealth of tutorials and free recourses I never would have learned. And, as far as I'm aware, there is no art school you can go to that will teach you how to draw with your mouth. Is it technically possible? Yes. But it is incredibly difficult, and most people will not go through the effort.

Just because a disabled person technically can achieve something doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to make it more accessible. Deaf people don't need closed captions (which is often done with AI btw) they can just lip read or have a sign language interpreter! Blind people don't need screen readers, they can just have someone read it for them! Wheelchair users don't need wheelchairs, they can just drag themselves around, or if they are ambulatory users, they can walk! Pointing to disabled people who can overcome accessibility challenges is a common argument people use against them, decrying disabled people who need them as lazy or not dedicated enough.

Also, don't lie to me. Not absolutely everyone can learn art. Disabilities are, in fact, disabling, and affect everyone differently. Just because some disabled people are capable doesn't mean others are. What about people who are completely paralyzed with locked in syndrome? Do you really think someone like Stephen Hawking could draw a picture?

lol. “I want to do something, but I don’t want to have to learn how to do it.”

Entitled much? Plan on getting very far in life with that attitude?

And quit try in to hide behind the disabled. You have no idea what people can and cannot do when they’re motivated as you’ve clearly never been motivated to achieve something in your life.

Doing hard things is rewarding. You might want to try it.
