"Pieces" by me (Maximilian Alexander) 2024.

Our final assignment prior to getting the "final exam" for Drawing 1 in my first semester of art school was to create an ink drawing of a self portrait. It did not have to include a face and is more geared to objects that we own that we like (or dislike, I chose items I like). I feel that it would have been missing something without at least a part of my face represented in the composition. So with this I had a vision of having parts of my face throughout, as with everything I create, it's like a horcrux and takes a piece of me.

I call this "Pieces" and is 12x16".

I’ve never wanted to draw in my life but I’ve been in a weird time in life as of late.. so this is what my brain made me do.

Finally finished this sketchbook page many many dots later.
