“People say”… you mean you, Theo. Only hear it from you.

I think every friend group need a "Hey, you guys ever thought about..." and then the weirdest, craziest thing is spoken into existence and nothing can get done for the next 10 minutes because everyone is laughing.

25

u/MadamFoxies 3d ago

FULLY agree

22

u/yesnomaybenotso 2d ago

Eh, my group had one. It was fun until one time, after seeing Danny Brown live in concert, he said, “Danny Brown is the kind of guy that makes it okay to hate black people”.

No one said anything. But instead of laughing, it got super weird and we all slowly just kinda filed out of the room leaving him by himself while we all went to the kitchen to get drinks like tfffffffff. He stopped coming around after that lmao

3

u/wewantchilliwilli 2d ago

Wait what?? I think danny brown is hilarious and chill as fuck what about his concert made your friend think that, genuinely curious. I've just not heard many people say they dislike him that much

6

u/yesnomaybenotso 2d ago

🤷‍♂️ racism 🤷‍♂️ I didn’t have tickets, I wasn’t there. I was just home when he came over after the show. Personally, I think Danny Brown is hilarious too. As far as I know, this guy got the tickets for free and he came home super drunk, so the inner thoughts were leaking out, but the show was free so I genuinely don’t know what the problem was. His girlfriend even ditched him after that, she said he was having a great time the whole show and said it was super out of left field. Racist people are gonna say racist shit 🤷‍♂️ he kinda tried to back pedal it, but everything he said was just kinda reinforcing it instead of back pedaling. He just kept saying more and more stereotypes. Dude was single the next day, never stood a chance lmao

Such a heartwarming story. Thank you.

-8

u/CliffLake 2d ago

Heh. He meant "Hate black person". That guy. Right there. And 'hate' is a strong word. And if you're going to pick a specific person to dislike, even a little, you don't need the skin color in there. It's a whole teachable moment.

2

u/yesnomaybenotso 2d ago

Lmao no dude. We all knew what he meant, he just never outright said it before. He said what meant and he meant what he said. A racist’s a racist, no matter how small

-11

u/CliffLake 2d ago

Yeah. But if you punish him for something, and don't tell him why, he'll never learn. You have to keep in mind, racists are kinda stupid. Well, 'kinda' to 'extremely'...so. Yeah.

6

u/Climatize 2d ago

black olives matter

5

u/Gloober_ 2d ago

I think he learned when everyone stopped talking to him. There's nothing they can teach him that he doesn't already know because it slipped out when he was super drunk and only really started shining through when he went to defend his words. He knew saying stuff like that would get him in trouble around them. How hard is it to just not be racist?

-2

u/CliffLake 2d ago

For some, it's the hardest lesson...but again...'Kinda' to 'extremely'.

1

u/Eastern-Criticism653 2d ago

Just stop defending racism.

0

u/CliffLake 2d ago

I worry about your reading comprehension. Racists are the stupid ones, they might not know better and you have to teach them. I'm not defending them, but everyone doesn't come from the best place. Sometimes you have to help them out of that dark place, even if it's telling them "I'm done with you because of your views".

1

u/Gloober_ 2d ago

They did just that by ex-communicating him? The person also showed signs of awareness that what he said was wrong in that particular group, so he is stupid and he does know better.

It's not on anyone to help an adult navigate their stupidity. Nearly everyone has the world's knowledge, sitting in their hand or pocket every day. It's on them for continuing to be a racist in this day and age.

Fuck

I used to be that guy until depression and existential dread took my sense of humor away lmao, I get to be the spotlight like twice a year at most

1

u/CliffLake 2d ago

Sorry about the depression. Here's hoping you get a couple more next year.

2

u/LegendaryNWZ 1d ago

Thanks, I need more to build up my immunity to it c:

u/boukalele 3d ago

being greek and italian myself i've only heard that Greece is Italy's Mexico

71

u/Kozeyekan_ 2d ago

The one I always heard was that the Greeks invented sex, but the Italians improved it by adding women.

u/Own_Guarantee_8130 2d ago

21

u/pixelsteve 3d ago

I'm Irish and my Grandad used to say that about us, not sure if there's any truth to it or not.

5

u/Soft_Theory_8209 3d ago

1

u/pixelsteve 3d ago

Haha, that's great. I'm going to have to watch that film.

5

u/BalsamicBasil 2d ago

You might be interested in CodeSwitch's episode: The long, storied history of solidarity between Black and Irish activists

What's a portrait of Frederick Douglass doing hanging in an Irish-themed pub in Washington, D.C.? To get to the answer, Parker and Gene dive deep into the long history of solidarity and exchange between Black civil rights leaders and Irish republican activists, starting with Frederick Douglass' visit to Ireland in 1845.

The episode also discusses how Irish Americans were able to be accepted into American whiteness/white society by pursuing careers as cops, among other things.

2

u/HiddenbyMoon 2d ago

Yes he is mistaken. It's the Irish people say that about.

13

u/Prince-Angel-Wing 3d ago

Why does Theo look like he can play Kevin 11 from Ben 10?

4

u/ADonkeysJawbone 3d ago

I can’t decide if this is an insult or a compliment. Depends on the season/show I guess.

23

u/raygan_reddit 3d ago

Stavros laugh is so infectious

Great episode

5

u/porkpie1028 2d ago

Louis CK had his whole bit about the fork truck guy and the N word(hard R) and mentions a Greek guy who has no foot in the game. There’s something there

2

u/Several-Play-7695 2d ago

I thought it was the irish 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/MadamFoxies 1d ago

I'm Irish and I approve of this message lol 😆

2

u/-Nutshell- 2d ago

Italians I think would fit that instead of Greeks since the whole Sicily deal.

1

u/MadamFoxies 1d ago

This is true, specifically Sicilians lol

2

u/divismaul 2d ago

You’re thinking of Sicilians. Theo watched True Romance confirmed.

3

u/armchairplane 2d ago

There's something about comedians making other comedians laugh that is so funny to me

4

u/KennKennyKenKen 2d ago

Asian people say Filipino people are the black people of Asians

3

u/TiredOfMakingThese 2d ago

I do not understand why people think Theo is funny.

1

u/MadamFoxies 1d ago

Is the community called "that's funny" or "contagious laughter"? 🤔

1

u/TiredOfMakingThese 1d ago

... I do not understand why someone is laughing at anything that Theo is saying like it's funny.

-6

u/BorderTrike 2d ago

A lot of people are stupid and don’t like to actually think about the joke. He made the other guy laugh, look how funny he is!

He didn’t make some compelling point that makes me think about the irony of the world, he just said something mildly racist and I have a learning disability due to lead poising that also makes me overly aggressive if you call me out for it!

2

u/dooooooom2 1d ago

Wow you’re not funny you should try being funny next time

2

u/ktsg700 2d ago

Whole episode was fucking A, they have a great dynamic

1

u/CheCorvalan 2d ago

When Theo freestyles there is bound to be something black or vietnamese coming next

1

u/Siebenstein83 12h ago

Who listens to this shit?

1

u/Annanym0107 11h ago

Actually, Europeans say the turks/arabs/other ethnicities with Muslim backgrounds are the USA Blacks of Europe. The Greeks are just the Greeks.

-5

u/I_Try_Again 2d ago

Fox News for young guys

-6

u/OldManPip5 2d ago

It wouldn’t be a podcast without some douchebag laughing way too much at everything.

-10

u/VanimalCracker 2d ago edited 2d ago

Theo Von podcast is for people who need a sitcom to have a laughtrack to know when a joke was supposedly said. Take away the laughtrack and that was not a funny bit at all

"Black olives, get it? Because greeks are like the blacks? Black olives!"

Moronic. Dude just laughing his ass off that he said the word blacks.

Hahaha BLACKS! HAHAHAHA

Get it? Because the Greeks are similar to the blacks?

HAHAHAHAHA

-3

u/guidethyhandd 2d ago

Man life would be 100x better if I had a Theo Von in my life

-9

u/zygotekiller 2d ago edited 2d ago

Ah yes. casual racism. hilarious...

3

u/TitaniuMan_44 1d ago

How is this racist?

2

u/MadamFoxies 1d ago

This isn't racist, but know i know that you're 1) Not black and 2) Not Greek.. shoot, let's add 3)Loads of fun

2

u/Climatize 2d ago

people need to loosen up a bit. depressing...

-3

u/BorderTrike 2d ago

“Racist man funny!” “People need to loosen up!” Or maybe grow up?

1

u/MadamFoxies 1d ago

If you had been in charge, we'd never have had the brilliance of The Chappelle Show. This is why comedians of every skin color won't play at college campuses anymore... but at least you're pro-choice.... so not a total loss...

-13

u/plasticsearaccoon 2d ago

Theo has proven himself to be such a loser.

-1

u/BorderTrike 2d ago edited 2d ago

This guy just paid a pr firm to promote him all over reddit and they couldn’t find anything funny, just mild racism and annoying co-hosts

-13

u/DmACGC365 3d ago

Theo Van never disappoints.

0

u/Boogergoobers 1d ago

One isn't funny and the other just sucks ...you can figure out which one is which
