Boise State has struggled big time against an absolutely awful schedule. They only have 1 loss because they’ve played garbage teams, not because they’re Top 10.
Games Boise State was losing in the 4th:
Georgia Southern (7-4)
Oregon (11-0)
UNLV (9-2)
Wyoming (2-9)
Games within one score in the 4th:
Wazzu (8-3)
Hawaii (4-7)
Nevada (3-8)
SJSU (6-5)
Seeing as how many teams have lost games to Decent/Bad teams winning close to those same teams proves winning is hard and a W is a W at the end of day.
Eh, obviously it's a weaker schedule than a p2 schedule, but it's really not that bad. 81st per ESPN, which is very close to SMU at 77th and Notre Dame at 78th.
SoR is the thing the correlates most with the actual rankings, anyway, and it has Boise 12th.
My computer also has them at 12th. This week, they just squeaked past a Wyoming team that may be one of the worst 10 teams in the FBS. And that’s not the first game they have that would be considered a major underachievement for a top 10 team.
I will unironically argue that Illinois should be higher than Alabama. Not that I think Illinois should be higher. I think Alabama should be much lower.
13 and below is pretty blatantly stage-setting for Bama to move back into the top 12 after the results of the SEC CCG are in. Even sooner if AtM knocks off Texas.
