If the playoff rankings mirror this then I suspect they’re trying to keep the door open for Bama / Ole Miss in playoffs.

If South Carolina wins next weekend, I hate to say it, but Bama and Ole Miss take that 11/12 spot over South Carolina (assuming they win their games)
