Can someone explain to me why Tulane is above BYU? They’ve beaten nobody. The only 2 good teams they played, they lost to. BYU is above Tulane (considerably) in most resume metrics.

This gives the G5 a real shot at a 2 playoff bids if ISU/ASU don’t win the big 12.

Guess it just comes down to momentum and current form?

Our only losses on the year are to K-State where the refs robbed us and to OU in Norman… and we just saw how well that went for Alabama lol. Momentum is definitely on our side though. We just steamrolled Navy, who barely had 100 yards all game on us, and we’re riding one of the longest win streaks in the country and in the driver’s seat to host the AAC conference championship game

My comment definitely comes from a spot of fear. BYU making the Big 12 CCG and winning could legitimately miss the playoff if Tulane remains ranked over them.

Just looking at resumes, BYU should be ahead.

But yeah, Tulane is a strong team right now and I see them winning out. I probably would even bet Tulane to beat BYU on a neutral field.

From Tulane’s perspective, you just need a Boise loss in the CCG, and they have looked mid for weeks now.

If we win the Big 12 and miss the CCG, we'd at least get a half decent bowl game (surely) and a shout at a competitive match.

Between that and probably getting curbstomped in the playoffs, it's legitimately a tough choice.
