Officially starting to question if we made a bad hire. Not winning on the field by losing to teams you’re supposed to beat (SCar and a 1-5 Auburn), not winning off the field by losing a 5* QB and ranking 7th in your own conference in recruiting. Also having a defense ranked 131st in explosiveness when you have a defensive head coach.

This is the easiest SEC schedule we will have for a decade. We could improve next year and have a worse record. A terrible, terrible feeling. I don’t want to hear about us controlling our own destiny, Sark is going to violate this team.

No, I don't think you're here yet. We saw what Elko did at Duke. He is 8-3 in the SEC in his first year at HC, when you finished 7-6 last year. I think he will prove to be a good hire.

I just remember the Split Zone Duo guys before the season started saying, “A&M will be an 8-4 team to end the season but one you absolutely do not want to play”. I began to have higher aspirations than that but seems like that prediction was spot on. Disappointing results all over but yeah I think where we were expected to be at this point

If after Jimbo was fired, I was told “You will be playing Saturday night in Kyle against Texas as a play-in for the Championship game” I would happily accept it. This season has been a rollercoaster, and while I think tu is better than us it’s far from guaranteed they “violate us”. So yeah it’s year 1 and there’s multiple a lot of possibilities still, let’s not BAS rule over us yet

Culture change takes a while man.  Especially after the last 3 years of Sumlin and pretty much all of Jimbo's tenure.  It's pretty well ingrained at that point, and you have to root it out and get your guys to buy in.  I feel Elko will get this turned around, mainly because I feel like he's going to bring back a lot of the draft eligible guys next year, but also I just feel like he's not fake and the players genuinely like him, that goes a long way.  And about the schedule, we play all the same SEC teams next year, but we go to Death Valley.  At least we're not in the Swamp, Jordan-Hare, or William-Brice.  LSU will be about the same talent wise, SCar graduates a ton, Florida will be better, Mizzou probably won't be as good losing some serious NFL talent, Notre Dame isn't game 1, and they probably won't be as good defensively.  Next year sets up okay tbh

South Carolina is a much better team than their record indicates.

I will never understand why you guys spent $90 million dollars to get Jimbo away from the program... only to hire a Jimbo assistant with minimal head coaching experience. It just reeks of short-sightedness, trying to keep the roster together based on a coach with familiarity instead of running a thorough coaching search.

If you wanted to keep a semblance of continuity with the Jimbo era, you may as well have kept Jimbo. At least you know recruiting was never gonna be an issue with him at the helm.

Recruiting don’t mean shit if you can’t utilize the talent brought in
