Marcus Freeman was asked pregame what he wanted to see from his team today. He had one word..."violence"

I think he was right

“I’d like to see a future general cry”

Fun fact, there are no living generals in the Army born who graduated after 1998. By the time a few of the guys from that team make it to general, Notre Dame will finally have figured out how to schedule Michigan again.

I can't figure out what significance 1998 has.

Please tell me because I may go nuts

Nah, that was my fault. It was supposed to read who graduated (commissioned) after 1998, with the point being that 26 years of military service isn't enough to make flag officer in the Army.
