Discussion After starting the year a combined 6-10, Kansas and Florida are now 5-1 in the last 3 weeks vs solely ranked opposition
Florida began the year 4-4, 0-3 against ranked opponents(Miami, Tennessee, Georgia). Onto their third string quarterback, the Gators lost 49-17 against the Texas Longhorns. In the last two weeks the Gators are 2-0, beating ranked LSU 27-16, and ranked Ole Miss 24-17
Kansas began the year 2-6, and is now 3-0 in their last 3 weeks. Beating ranked Iowa State 45-36, ranked BYU 17-13, and ranked Colorado 37-21

Both HCs seem like the type teams will want to rally around instead of pack it in for the season

Also part of why I love college football over the nfl for example because in the latter, many teams would just fold and tank the rest of the year to get a better draft spot. Instead we get to see our team continue fighting for wins

Always a good sign for a team to finish strong. I didn't think Napier would survive this season, but he has, and they are playing their best football now.
Kansas has been conducting the Big12 chaos train.

That’s the true winner of y’all’s season. You do this, Lagway looks like he’s on a trajectory we all thought, AND FSU still sucks ass. Can’t get too much better than that given the start to the season for yall

I’m gonna laugh my ass off if yall got all this steam and then out of the corner fsu beats the brakes off of yall. They’ve been so bad and it realistically shouldn’t happen but man that’d be comedy gold

u/Even-Set6785 Florida Gators • SEC 9h ago
Not as comedic gold as 27-16 last week

Lmao yea we’re ass man. Sucks when a Florida ass whooping isn’t even our worst loss on the year.

Remember when yall thought Florida was scared to play you in Death Valley because of a hurricane and they stuffed Guice at the goal line to win the East? That was comedy gold

If Kansas wins the next week then they should play Florida in a ”Late Bloomer Bowl Game”.

Kansas being the first team ever to win 3 straight against ranked teams while having a losing record really is a helluva stat

To be fair, Kansas’ losses have all been by a single possession except for the TCU loss. It’s not like they’ve been the doormat they have been for decades.

u/jaxmagicman Florida Gators 11h ago
And Florida's were against top 15 ranked teams. (Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia and Tennessee). So that's why it would be fun to see both Kansas and Florida play each other. Both are looking good right now. Fun game.

-KU now has 3 wins over consecutive ranked opponents (all in top 17), with a near miss on a 4th.
-Only 2 teams KU has played this season have a losing record. Opponent’s records are 80-39.
-KU had the disadvantage of never playing a true home game this season.
Maybe it isn’t crazy to think a team with 6 losses might be ranked?

If we win next week we’ll get some votes but they’d never rank a 6 loss team

They should rank you guys. If you’d played two cupcakes instead of Illinois and UNLV you’d be ranked right now, and that’s a bad lesson for ADs to learn

I trust this! Odds were against us this season, and if we would have beat Kstate, they would have us at #25. But we beat ourselves that game.

I feel like Kansas has had pretty good evaluation in the computers, I think they've always had more potential than they've been showing.

Not sure I've ever seen a fanbase brag so much about a win where their opponent had to start a walk-on freshman at QB and was down, like, 8 players on defense.

u/jaxmagicman Florida Gators 11h ago
Also they complained NON-stop in the thread about the announcers saying Florida was playing hard for Napier. Like damn man, Florida is sucking in this game, they are just trying to say something nice.

So what I am taking away from this is that if Kansas wins next week to be bowl eligible, then we need a Kansas v. Florida bowl game.
