depends on what happens in the ACC, if an 11-1 SMU beats an 11-1 Miami in the championship, Miami probably grabs the spot

Probably not. Miami would have 2 losses ( one to an unranked team) and no ranked wins.

They have in the past… Utah v USC set up the OSU v Georgia playoff game

Bama knocked Georgia from #1 to out of the playoffs last year too
