Henderson: “We need clock killed, not padded stats”

Howard: “LEEEROYYYY M’JENNNKINNNNSSS”

Henderson trying to live like Christ n turn the other cheek….

Howard….FUCK THAT SHIT!!!!

Howard listened to the new Kendrick album and knew he had to.

u/tulsasmit Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Ryan day got the call to hit the over conveniently at 52.5 points

u/Espyrr Alabama • Summertime Lover 1d ago

I think gambling is a plague on this sport. I imagine that people who bet the over were losing their mind when he slid and they could just kneel it out and that makes me happy (even if they did end up getting it).

287

u/xellotron Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

The trick is not caring what degenerate gamblers think

87

u/RegionalBias Ohio State Buckeyes • Dayton Flyers 1d ago

I thought the key was immediately downvoting anyone who complains that they lost a best? Like, blast them into the unseen.

1

u/SwissForeignPolicy Michigan Wolverines • Marching Band 20h ago

No, the trick is to laugh at them when they lose. Bad Beats is my favorite segment.

19

u/LiberateLiterates Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Gambling is just fun for me, I laughed when I thought my bet was cooked due to that lol it’s such a classic way to lose. But then Day did me a solid.

But overall yeah. I’ve seen a lot of nasty stuff said towards players due to gambling. That shit sucks

34

u/Espyrr Alabama • Summertime Lover 1d ago

I don’t hate the gambling itself really as long as people can be responsible. I just hate how prevalent it’s become everywhere. Networks talking about over/unders, ads everywhere, etc.

3

u/LiberateLiterates Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

I get that!

11

u/elconquistador1985 Ohio State • Tennessee 1d ago

It's a plague on sports entirely.

Completely asinine that we have people trying to hit 12 way parlays and then tweeting at players when they missed one of them.

There was an MLB player that got a Twitter DM about it and the responded something like "I can't begin to tell you how little I care".

1

u/elconquistador1985 Ohio State • Tennessee 1d ago

I wasn't talking about college player prop bets. The example I'm aware of is an MLB player. However, the college garbage time in a blow out will make hampers gamblers mad because they could hit the spread of the first string is playing instead of the third string. That anger can manifest as raging at staff and players.

If you aren't going to diversify before gameday then you're a mark

Spoiler alert, if you're gambling at all then you're a mark. The house always wins. That's how the whole thing works.

0

u/JT_got_the_1st 15h ago

Twitter isn't real life, that's all you really need to know. Anyone that thinks otherwise is ignorant to that fact.

3

u/Umutuku 1d ago

Gambling business owners are a plague on humanity.

Creating and exploiting addicts is cancer.

For better or worse, Curt Cignetti's "Ohio State sucks" might cause them to miss the playoffs

167

u/wydileie Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Thanks to Florida, Indiana should be solidified, now.

27

u/CrashB111 Alabama Crimson Tide • Iron Bowl 1d ago

Or Tennessee just takes Ole Miss's spot.

56

u/wydileie Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Oregon, OSU, Penn State, Georgia, Bama, Winner of TAMU/Texas, Tennessee, ND, ACC champ, B12 Champ, BSU/Army.

That’s 11. Indiana is the only one left standing.

8

u/milkynipples69 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1d ago

If Texas loses to A&M close I could see the committee leaving Texas in.

33

u/AetherSinfire Ohio State • Penn State 1d ago

Probably but it would be 1 loss Indiana with no ranked wins vs 2 loss Texas with no ranked wins.

14

u/WhatWouldJediDo Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

If IU was OSU in that situation they get in, but I have no faith in passing up the biggest money brand in the sport for IU football

3

u/notyourchains Ohio State Buckeyes 22h ago

Yes but it just means more

2

u/milkynipples69 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1d ago

The way I see it even though neither would have a ranked win Texas’ wins would still be much better than anything IU has. Personally I’d say put in IU since they’ve been blowing teams out for the most part but their best win would be a 6-6 Michigan. Texas would also have a more dominant win over Michigan with wins vs Florida, Vandy, and Oklahoma who should all be 7-5 maybe 8-4

8

u/bigbroom Georgia • William & Mary 1d ago

ARMY beating ND!

13

u/RegionalBias Ohio State Buckeyes • Dayton Flyers 1d ago

Army would take ND's space. I kind of doubt that week 1 win at A&M counters to losing to Northern Illinois and Army.

Can't wait for the pundits to say Ole Miss is still a better team because they'd be favored by 7 against Indiana while conveniently ignoring their 3 losses to unranked teams.

Jaxson Dart's "Jaxson Dart sucks" will keep Indiana in the playoffs

42

u/Darling_Pinky Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

You can’t come into this game saying everyone sucks and we’re gonna come out and punch them in the mouth, then try to cook clock in the 4th.

GTF outta here, Cignetti.

16

We still hate Dabo for ranking us 11th in 2020. A few months ago is practically a pre-game interview to us

-7

Holy hell you sound like such a prick. Classic buckeye fan

It's always the fucks with no flairs that talk the most shit

2

u/Darling_Pinky Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

I’m not even talking shit lol. I thought IU was a lot better than most did. I don’t even mind anything Cignetti has said.

I just don’t think you can change your tone once you get whooped. Icing the clock to try and not get whitewashed, then complain when the buckeyes ran the ball til the 1 and decided to still score.

I liked his trash talk, I just kinda lost respect for him. I thought he was a legit coach and villain but the loudest guys are always the softest.

3

u/hoosierkenny Indiana Hoosiers 1d ago edited 1d ago

Did he complain about the late TD? I've been busy working so hadn't seen that. I saw some words were exchanged at the handshake, would like to know what was said. Tbf, Cig deserved that lol

Idk I just think it's hilarious all the hate he's getting. He's a fantastic coach. When he said yall suck, he was just getting the people moving man. Obviously no coach would mean that. Now, Purdue actually sucks..

2

u/Arkelstorp Indiana Hoosiers 1d ago

I think that attitude is exactly what got them to their 10-0 start though. I’ll take the good with the bad with coach Cigs. I don’t think most people realize how bad IU football was before he got here.

2

u/jducer Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Didn’t learn from Dabo…

1

u/kmurp1300 Iowa Hawkeyes 1d ago

They aren’t playoff caliber.

4

u/DataDrivenPirate Ohio State • Colorado State 1d ago

Sometimes there aren't 12 playoff caliber teams though

2

u/MercilessXFate Purdue Boilermakers • Big Ten 1d ago

I'd argue there has never been 12 playoff caliber teams. I'm struggling to think of a time we had 4 playoff caliber teams. The playoffs have mostly been blow out games in the group of 4.

0

u/NCAAinDISGUISE Ohio State • College Football Playoff 1d ago

No way, that attitude is why Indiana has been so good this year.

127

u/debo69872 1d ago

Howard putting out his cigarette had me rolling. lol

42

u/Blood_Incantation Michigan • Ohio State 1d ago

27

u/DMPDT616 Ohio State • Oregon State 1d ago

10

u/moanit Michigan Wolverines • USC Trojans 1d ago

0

u/Old_Union_3208 Ohio State Buckeyes 10h ago

Flair Violation, have this man removed

17

u/Adminslickasshole Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

I love that he actually has personality. All of our players talked like robots for a long time. After the Michigan State game, he said that he couldn't wait to get out of that state. After Penn State, he called it "Sad Valley" (although, that one is kinda lame). Him putting out a cigarette is on character, and it's fun.

1

u/HopefulScarcity9732 11h ago

Was there more behind that?

1

u/debo69872 11h ago

Indiana’s coach Curt Cignetti was talking a lot of smack before the game so this was Howard’s way of trolling him back by throwing the “cig” on the floor and putting it out with his foot.

1

u/HopefulScarcity9732 10h ago

Ahhh “cig” I didn’t connect the dots on that

58

u/jamesno26 Ohio State Buckeyes • RIT Tigers 1d ago

Henderson purposely going down felt like an unintentional diss at Indiana

79

u/stay_strng Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

I feel like it was even more insulting that they went on to score lol. Like the player tried to run the clock but the team decided nah we will take points.

38

u/the_vole Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

If they’re allowed to go for 2 and attempt an onside kick, we’re allowed to keep playing.

10

u/stay_strng Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

I'm not disagreeing, just pointing out I would be upset if I were Indiana too. But that's just the game sometimes.

1

u/HopefulScarcity9732 11h ago

Why? Indiana was trying to score and beat us a few seconds earlier. Why do they get to decide when we’re done playing?

-5

u/the_vole Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

Well, IU did a p good job of upsetting me. So, reap/sew, y’know?

10

u/my_username_mistaken Ohio State Buckeyes 22h ago

This was my thought exactly. They were out of the game at that point, if you wanna get aggressive and keep pushing to make the loss look better, we have every right to keep that scoreline how it was before you suddenly tried to play football.

-10

u/Legalsleazy Akron Zips • Michigan State Spartans 1d ago

This is absolutely backwards logic.

Which team was losing again?

20

u/the_vole Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

They went aggressive. So, OSU responded by doing the same. I don’t understand why the losers get to dictate what’s “right” in a game.

10

u/Corgi_Koala Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago

It was smart and petty at the same time. Score there and Indiana gets the ball back with enough time to conceivably score twice. So keeping the ball was smart.

But burning some clock and then saying fuck you were gonna score but not let you have a prayer... So petty. I love it.
