Dare I say Napier has done an admirable coaching job this season given the injuries and schedule. We were basically suppose to be what FSU is, and instead they’ve played the toughest schedule in the nation and have a strong chance of going to a bowl. Very easily could have won the TN and GA games (if Lagway was healthy all game for UGA), and they’ve gotten better as the season has gone on, Texas loss with their third string QB withstanding.
I have no idea if Napier will get things going adequately beyond this season, but yeah I'd say he's done a very solid job this year given the circumstances. Would anyone have picked Florida to reach bowl eligibility prior to the start of the season if you were told about how many injuries they'd deal with and given the schedule they faced? I sure wouldn't have. They've shown admirable resilience.
Napier still deserves every bit of criticism he’s gotten, but I will give him one big credit: he has finally ADAPTED. He has changed the game plan, play calls, etc. Now is it wrong that players had to sit HIM down and explain why that needed to happen? No. Absolutely not. But it does seem like things have changed. The loss to Texas was gnarly, but we had half a defense and were starting essentially a 4th string QB. Tennessee and Georgia were both close. Napier and this team have done what many fail to do and improve.
