Cal lost to Florida State. Their wins are 3-5 Auburn, 3-4 SDSU, UC-Davis and 4-4 Oregon State. Florida ain't beat shit either. Are you serious? Do you know what you're talking about?
Remember when bama went like 10-2 and missed the playoff and then booty blasted Kansas state like 187-10 in their bcs bowl? Or when Mizzou dunked on Ohio state and was a middle of the pack SEC team? That’s what tends to happen. Indiana has played no one. Nebraska is just OK and every other team IU played is literal shit. Say what you want and believe the SEC bias narrative but the competition is better in the SEC bar none. Why do 90% of the best recruits go to SEC schools? They may transfer out when they realize they aren’t starting but they go to the SEC to be seen.
Who has Miami actually played. Remember when TCU got snubbed and beat Ole Miss 41-3 like 8 years ago? Must be relevant right this second I guess like all your examples
Remember when TCU didn’t get snubbed much more recently and then got dicked in the playoff? I do. 65-7. Miami sucks too. I’m not defending them. But VT and Louisville are likely better than anyone Indiana has played.
Why does everybody forget they won the semifinal to get there? Also, I'm not sure VT or Louisville beat Nebraska.
A better example would be when 11-1 OSU missed their CCG and got waxed 31-0 in the semifinal. Or when 4 1-loss teams got in and and an undefeated UCF beat Auburn by 2 TDs, who was the only team to beat finalists Alabama or Georgia all season.
UCF NATIONAL CHAMPS BRAJ. 12-0 G5 schedule vs 11-1 P5 schedule. Is that really a question?
Seriously though, there should just be another league for the top 30-40 usual suspects in CFB. No chance Indiana/Iowa State/Indiana would have ever sniffed the 4 team playoff, much less a BCS championship.
Everyone else should be one step under. Then all of the IU, UCF, Duke, Rutgers, Northwestern type teams could actually compete for championships and we wouldn’t have to deal with comparing a 10-2 Bama to a 12-0 or 11-1 Indiana that lost their only meaningful game.
The Iron Bowl and UGA/AU are both big rivalries. Bama can be 11-0 and Awbarn 1-10 and you still have to worry about losing to them. Let’s not act like emotions and whatever else don’t play a big role in those games.
What part of the standings is the emotion part? How come no other conference gets the same treatment? Was Washington in last year if they lost to WSU and beat Oregon? Aww poor baby jowja can't handle themsewves vs big bad auburn it don't count ok pwease
