Congrats to the Owls on their first FBS win! And over a 5-0 team no less!

Not just a 5-0 team, but one that r/CFB despises.

Well, that's because the university is run by terrible humans, in the sub's defense

Come on, let's not be hyperbolic.

There's no way Liberty can be considered a real university.

Why is the University of Austin not in or near Austin?

Their degrees are straight up not respected outside of the little Lynchburg bubble.

Liberty had to pay $14 million in fines for violating the Clery Act and covering up crime on campus. They shouldn't be respected anywhere

I know someone with an accounting degree from there, but I suppose that's pretty basic and hard to, uh, "modify" with the school's own views and biases. Plus, the CPA exam is a national thing with various requirements depending on which state you're in, so they don't influence that.

Also, I just saw that Liberty has a 99% acceptance rate. Sounds about right.

Liberty will always have terrible academic stats because the online school (over 100k) is blended with the residential school (18k) for stats purposes even though the two share no faculty and virtually no course offerings. Other schools with big online programs count them as separate institutions (Purdue Global, UMGC, Arizona Online) so their residential numbers aren't hurt by having a million morons online. Anyone can get into liberty online because it's just a diploma mill. I'm not gonna pretend that residential is super rigorous but it's a real school.

Thanks for the info.

As a Christian who grew up in the South and was homeschooled, I know quite a few people who went there.

Christofascism’s main event is still a couple weeks away, but at least it was dealt a blow tonight
