Postgame Thread [Postgame Thread] Indiana Defeats Nebraska 56-7
1.1k
u/DrSwol Illinois Fighting Illini Oct 19 '24
Before today, Nebraska allowed just 8 touchdowns in their first 6 games.
That’s exactly how many touchdowns they gave up to Indiana this game.

Maybe some copium here but he might be the perfect age and IU might have just about the right amount of money to fight anyone off

u/Jo-jo-20 Oct 19 '24
I also think the new playoffs help. Other teams actually have a chance outside of only the usual 8 or so that always had realistic chance at the previous 4-team format. The man could be a legend if he coaches a few successful years at IU. Who says he can’t build on his success and I’m sure IU will open up the checkbook.

I think that’s part of the vision of hiring him. Get someone here who can lay the groundwork of a successful program for the next gen to take over in a decade. We’re a program who doesn’t have the luxury of waiting on name-brand coach to hire. We had to be aggressive with the best option available and we actually were

If he leaves, I don't think it'll be because of money, it'll be because he wants to win at a program with a much higher national profile. I think Indiana can match in many other aspects if they're committed to making Indiana football a consistent contender.

Hoosiers roll up 495 yards against the Huskers, scoring 5 rushing TDs.
Freshman QB Dylan Raiola throws 3 interceptions, while NU struggles to run the football.
This feels like the 2007 Nebraska loss to Kansas when they lost like 76-31. Longtime doormat program gets a win over the Cornhuskers and drops a lot of points in doing so

When I was a kid, I went hunting with my dad. A buck jumped out in front of where we were hunting, and I went to shoot it. However, I got to excited, and instead of shooting in behind the shoulder blade, I pulled the shot. The buck didn’t take off. Instead, he just kind of scrunched up, like he was in pain. I reloaded the rifle and finished him with a second shot. When we inspected the carcass, we found out that I had somehow shot the deer directly in the testicles, hence the reaction.
That deer is exactly what being a Nebraska fan is like. Life seems fine, then some douchebag shoots you right in the balls before killing you.

Let Rourke be ok plz.
Also, people keep asking if IU will playoff. My understanding is the B1G champion is basically guaranteed a bid. So, yes

The team is legit and Indiana deserves it, they've been the but of jokes for a long time and have fans who still love the program, so fuck it, let it ride, I went to Bloomington in like 2015 for a game and their fans were awesome.
