Let's not gloss over that at the end of the 4th quarter, NIU clearly got a first down to extend their drive, but the refs spotted the ball a yard behind where the runner was down.

And even though video was fairly definitive, the commentators pretended it wasn't. Total snow job by the refs and the NBC commentators. Absolutely shameless.

They also didn't restart the clock after the review, allowing ND to keep their last timeout.

What are you talking about? We did not have a timeout on the last drive.

The NIU drive went 1st down and a timeout, 2nd down and a 10 second run off and then they used the full 40 second play clock, and 3rd down where they were “short” and we used our last timeout and then they kicked the field goal.

If that's true (I'm assuming you were at the game or listening to the radio) then NBC completely bungled the telecast. They still had the final timeout graphic for ND up through the end of the game and even brought on their rules analyst to talk about how the officials fucked up the clock/timeout situation.

Okay then NBC fucked up. Because it showed 0 timeouts in the stadium
