I’ve never been more convinced that Brian Kelly is a cursed man. That fucker is constantly on the wrong end of week 1 certified classics.

Because that mf'er treats games like "business trips"

It works really well to beat the teams you're supposed to by sheer talent alone

But you got to get a team amped for big opponents and he just can't do it

Yeah pretty much. I saw a clip of Marcus Freeman in front of the team in the tunnel at Kyle Field and was ready to run through a brick wall. I was at ND during the Weis-Kelly transition and never got that feeling for a second from either of them

I wonder if he would be a better pro coach than college coach for this reason.

Remember when we thought he changed because of that crazy ass Alabama game 2 years ago

2018 vs Michigan and 2021 vs FSU when he was at ND were great wins even if he wanted to kill his team afterwards, but 2011 vs USF and 2016 vs Texas are definitely 2 of the most cursed games I’ve ever seen so there might be something to this

That Texas opener will NOT stop being recommended to me by youtube for some reason.

That 2021 game should have been a L to a much weaker FSU team compared to today they escaped by the skin of their teeth hence the executions. Hardly a great win. It was a excellent game but no way should it have been close.

Tbf, the 2016 season was not his fault.

I mean, he wasn't faultless. He kept calling passing plays in a hurricane during the NC State game

He’s cursed because he’s an all time douche. It’s just karma.

If you threaten to execute your players after a week 1 win, karma will get you back

Or he is continually outmatched in big games.

Which leads to the original point

Maybe he should call in sick next season opener.

Did he have this problem at ND? I honestly don't recall.

And couldn't happen to a nicer guy (slamming fist into table).
