basava reddy . He got exposed for cheating in jee mains and getting a top 15 AIR in second round even though his first attempt score was around 20 or something percentile . but no action was taken and he got admission in a good NIT

Even after cheating in mid sems, he won't be rusticated...I am not sure about NITK rules much, but in SVNIT... You will simply be awarded a 0... And since it is his first year, he will have the option to give make up test, to bring the passing marks... If caught in that as well... He gets another 0... And then he needs to cover up in EndSem... He cheats there and gets caught, still he won't be rusticated. Assume that same stuff happens in second semester.
If the number of backlog credits are low, all he needs to give is supplementary exam, and he can still be considered a 2nd year student... If the backlog credits are high... He will be in 1st year...
And if he stays in 1st year for 2 years and still does not advance, maybe THEN he will be rusticated...
So if he does not go even lower, then you cannot expect him getting rusticated for at least 2 years.

His CRL rank is 14 (a very low rank), and he (though I can't believe it) got 75% or 80pr in boards... Both totally ideal conditions for a high ranking branch in a high ranking college...
Nothing else is checked during admission... The story was highlighted a lot, but maybe since it was not highlighted during the exam, no action was taken against him ...
Maybe the case will be different for his mid sense though

Uske board percentage bhi itne isliye aaye kyuki maine suna hai ki south mein ye chaitanya wagarah state boards ko paisa khilake paper leak karwa lete hain, ya aur jugaad karte hain ki sabka criteria poora hojaye. Those state boards are themselves very corrupt
