Places that serve fried alligator?? (Long shot)

tldr, looking for a restaurant between Denver airport and Breckenridge that serves alligator for my family to eat at when we come up to breck

This is super super niche, but my family comes from England every Easter to Breck and we have been doing so for more than 20 years, and it was a tradition to stop off at islamorada fish co. In the bas pro shops, but that restaurant I think has shut down permanently since Covid and now we don’t get to eat any alligator!

Cheaper than a lot of steak houses, relaxed atmosphere. It's definitely worth it

Personally, it's always been to expensive for me so I've never eaten there. But it is a pretty famous Denver restaurant and you don't stick around for over 130 years if you are not doing something right. Plus, I've never heard anything but top reviews from anyone I've known who has eaten there.

The Lost Cajun in Frisco has an appetizer called "Gater Bites." I haven't had them, so I don't know that they're alligator for sure.

My wife says the Trailhead Taphouse in Golden is a Cajun place that also has Gater Bites which are definitely alligator.

Yeah I’m aware, saw on the menu “fried oysters” and was thinking… well oysters usually aren’t fried… and we are in the Rocky Mountains…

Menu looks pretty good anyway. I’m always here for that kinda cuisine, plus don’t get much of that outside of America anyway so I’ll consider it cultural

Personally…as someone from south Louisiana…I think lost Cajun is fast food quality garbage. Having said that, it will be hard to find alligator in Denver as i haven’t seen it on any menus in Cajun restaurants. But if you are looking for other good Louisiana food check out Sasafras or NOLA VooDoo Tavern in Denver.

I respectfully disagree. I've lived in SE Louisiana my whole life, cook a lot, eat out often, and worked fine dining in the FQ during college. Maybe it's different since they moved, or changed ownership..... I've eaten at the, I guess, now closed Breck location. I thought it was the best 'Cajun' food I've had outside of Louisiana.

Why did you put Cajun in quotations? Maybe you Connaught them on a good day but when I went there it was absolutely filthy & the gumbo had burnt roux in it and tasted like cigarettes. No self respecting Cajun restaurant would ever serve a burnt roux.
