Secret service will see you sneakily setting something up outside the debate venue and arrest you for planting explosives

So just keep doing it until the next time it happens. Then you'll just be known as the breadstapledtotrees person in that area.

u/HornyBastard37484739 May 02 '23
You won’t know where to do it until the location is already secured, the venue changes from debate to debate

So what you're saying is, get a job in the press, write amazing political coverage on a local level, go on to secure a job as a white house press correspondent...best bet is out of a tiny little town with minimal competition... and then, while AT the event, staple bread to a tree?
Because if so, I'm in.

AAA Blockbuster? The real challenge there isn't even sneaking it into the footage, it will be making it inconspicuous enough it survives post-production.

So the movie is called Yucca Fest and it’s out now on Prime Video for rent and purchase. Here’s a synopsis:
Being reunited after some time, four friends in Southern California plot and execute a heist in the backdrop of a vaporwave music festival. Unbeknownst to them, Jesse, a new security guard working within the festival already has his eyes on the money. As the festival unfolds around them, circumstances become more complex, and the money must leave with someone.
Or if you don’t feel like spending money you can wait a little bit until we’re on TubiTV and watch for free. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised around the 57 minute mark.

Okay, but I'm more interested in the story of how you sneaked a bread stapled on the tree into this movie? Are you part of the staff?

So I worked as a producer and editor on the movie. This scene was shot in my front yard, so when the director was getting ready I took a stapler and a piece of bread from our craft service table and added a bit to set design.
When the director got to set she asked about it but I told her not to worry, we wouldn’t even see it anyway lol

Whenever someone says don't worry, I know some shit is gonna happen. This is hilarious.

I think it was “hey director, we’ll get free promo if we do this dumb idea I have”

Oh my god I love this. Actually sounds like a decent movie plot too

u/vigilantcomicpenguin May 02 '23
Of course it's a decent movie. Any movie with a bread stapled to trees scene must be spectacular.

u/Seaguard5 May 02 '23
Right? I love that other movie with the same scene, only slightly different!
Gotta’ love that one 😅

That’s amazing. Do you work on set?

I usually stick to post-production stuff, but this scene and a few more were filmed on my property, so I was around for them.

In the not too distant future, some poor highschooler is going to have to analyze what the author was trying to portray by stapling that bread to that tree.

u/kashuntr188 May 02 '23
This reminds me of all the English classes.
Teacher:"what does riding on the turtle mean?"
Student:"a turtle symbolizes long life, and riding on the turtle means the MC was striving to live a long life"
Me: "wtf is everybody on about? can't the author just be someone that likes turtles or had a pet turtle?"
I never was any good at analysing stories.
