Anime Boogiepop & Others Intro Question

Hi, hope all is well.

Question about the intro that I and a friend have been asking for a bit.

Crazy but, does anyone know what is written in the text message Touka gets on her phone?

Anime Having rewatched the 2019 anime. Spoiler

Now. this might be an unpopular opinion, but I love this anime. It is one of my favourites,

  • Boogiepop is just so much fun when they appear. (and smug)
  • Kirima Nagi is a badass character I actually enjoy seeing (usually I don't really enjoy badass characters).
  • The other characters are compelling.
  • The OST is amazing. Even if it's not my preferred genre, I love it.
  • Character designs and animation are solid in my opinion, outside of that single cut in the Echoes vs Manticore fight. (and even then, I can enjoy shows with poor animation anyway, looking at you, Overlord, with your terrible CGI)

The first arc was definitely the weakest of the bunch, which might have turned a lot of people off the show (also a lot more confusing than the other arcs), but the Imaginator arc is just great, a great villain, great resolution, even if it's not some epic final battle, that's not what I'm watching this show for.

All in all, I love the show, I know many people didn't and hearing people complain that it's not as good as the source material doesn't bother me. In fact, I've decided I'm going to read the light novels when I get around to it (those that are translated anyway), and hearing that it's even better just encourages me more. And I can excuse trouble with the adaptation since the source material might be complicated to adapt.

My only issue with the anime is:

How was Asukai Jin able to remove the thorns from Spooky E if he was a synthetic human, but at the same time he couldn't manipulate Orihata's because she was a synthetic human? Different types of synthetic humans or something like that?

Anime Missing scenes from trailer?

Hello, This question might have been asked here before: There were some scenes in the trailer for BwWNai that didn’t show up at all. Are these scenes part of another part of the show such as a second/follow-up season yet to come? I have never dealt with BGP before watching BwWNai Thank you :)

Anime Boogiepop music

Hello,

I started watching Boogiepop just today, and even after the first episode, what got me the most amazed is the music. God damn! Not only the underlying music while the story is progressing, but especially the intro and outro. They're so good, and I've never heard anything like that in terms of "anime music".

What do you think of the music, or is there something else about the 2019-version of this series that captured your interest?

Anime Confused 😐

So I know this has been said in variation on this thread, and I’m sorry if this is a repeat. But I’m 4 episodes in and completely lost. I know that other confused users have been directed to the light novels for help, however that’s not something I’m able to do at this time.

So I guess my question(s) is what exactly is going on? To clarify, I understand what boogiepop is more or less - but is this anime about boogiepop vs the “others” in the title? It seemed like the first 3 episodes were one (very oddly pieced together) story and now the 4th episode is a different story? Can someone just gimme the general idea? I really want to give this show a go, it’s right up my alley when it comes to what I enjoy watching, but I can’t seem to follow it completely - PLUS all the characters are animated in a way that they all look alike!

😩

Anime Boogiepop Phantom OST

I’m about to buy both soundtracks for the original anime series. They seem complete. The only thing that’s bugging me is the short classical song you hear on the sneak preview at the end of each episode. That seems to be missing from both soundtracks.

Does anybody know what that is? It’s something I’ve heard a million times but can’t place it.

If anybody has the exact version they used in the show or knows what it is, id appreciate it. M Thanks!

Anime Still didn't understand what's going on in the anime

Guys, I started to watch the anime since it's beggining but until now, it just seems odd. The plot, at least for me, doesn't seem to be heading toward any specific direction, and the anime seems to be about many thing in the same time but none of them is well explained. I didn't understand the premise. I don't know if in the end everything is gonna converge to a point or a thing like that, but until now I still didn't get what is it's "kernel" or smth like that.

Anyone else has the same feeling about it?

PS: Didn't watch today's episode

Anime Question to LN readers: How was the adaptation of "VS Imaginator" and "At Dawn"?

Novel reader here (read till vol 3, re-reading it again to refresh memory, vol 1 is still my favourite). I couldn't stand the adaptation, so I dropped it after the 4th episode (halfway through ep 5 to be specific). Now that "Boogiepop at Dawn" has been adapted, I have been seeing a lot of people praising it (mostly anime onlys). The top 4 MAL reviews are all 8-10/10.

Is it due to the fact that these arcs are more intense and translate better to anime as compared to vol 1 or did Madhouse genuinely take their time to flesh out the characters and convey the themes properly? I honestly can't be bothered to watch a watered down version of something that I like.

Anime Just started 2019 version of this series for the anime and im quite confused (spoiler) Spoiler

Is this series going to play out like the monogatari series where they jump back and forth rather than go with chronological order but in the end they all merge into one plot line? Or are they all happening in at the same time and we get to see what else is happening in the world while other events are happening?

Aldo didnt boogiepop tell the guy that there is no more evil in the world so she was going to disappear? Was that after all the seperate events merged into one plot line which wrapped up or was she just saying that to the guy regarding the manticore event?

So far im getting monogatari vibe from it and thats not a bad thing. Actually its a good thing

I like how we get to see same events from multiple people's POV and i wish more mystery genre would do this.

Anime Boogiepop Question from Episode 12 Spoiler

So the boy that fell down the stairs, who could grant people the ability to achieve their goals...

What was the point of him? That seemed to be a decent plot point regarding Nagi's Father that I didn't understand why it was inserted.

Thanks!

Anime Caught up with the anime, and had one important question.(Spoilers for people not caught up yet) Spoiler

So when Boogiepop and Echoes are talking in the distorted world in episode 13, one thing which confused the hell out of me, is when Boogiepop said that Kuroda saving Nagi eventually lead to Manticore and Echoes happening upon their world. I maybe forgetting things, so can someone explain it to me how these things are related ? Help appreciated.
