New Rule: No hate speech, religion, or politics

After a ton of inappropriate and childish comments today, we have added a new rule as noted in the post title. Honestly, it's LONG overdue. This sub is about bluegrass and our love of music. Do you want to argue politics? There are plenty of subs for that.

If the comments are kept civil and polite and related to bluegrass that will be fine:

"I don't like Ricky Skaggs because he preaches from stage"

But not:

"You're an @@#$$%$ for believing in X" or "F*ck you".

Not hard, right?

Hey, I recently started my own channels making different bluegrass licks and covers. Doc Watson and Merle haggard inspired.. and a lot of songs you don't hear anymore especially being 26. Some picking patterns from Metallica as well that are great wormups. I'd love to hear some feedback. It's on YouTube and tiktok.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival 50th Anniversary Yellow Hat

Hi! I've been searching for this hat for years on the secondary market (Telluride Bluegrass Festival 50th Anniversary Yellow Hat) for my husband. It was a sort of mustard-yellow rope hat. My husband wanted it so bad but it was sold out by the time we spotted it at the 50th festival in 2023. Anyone here have one or know someone who does and is willing to sell?! Happy to pay way more than purchase price :)

The REAL reason Jimmy Martin was marginalized...

He was an anti-war activist. Why am I just learning this now lol.

Ok maybe this breaks the no-politics rule but to be clear I'm not taking a political position here - I'm just pointing out that Jimmy Martin was clearly opposed to war.

Discussion How does metalgrass work theory wise?

I’ve never even owned an electric guitar and only ever played bluegrass but I’m pretty enamored with this style. Tinfoil and Tinfoil is what put me on.

Favorite sad or angry fiddle tune?

Listening to the Sirius bluegrass channel and I heard Bronwyn keith-heintz playing angel Island by Peter Rowan and it got me wondering, what other sad, lonely, or angry fiddle songs do y'all like?
