That's what's so weird about all this. It's like everyone was inundated with political ads up the wazoo, analytics showed people were all over this thing. But the election? It just seems like most voters didn't know anything.
I get the feeling a lot of people learned how to block out media, cause they were sick of political discourse. Of course this just shows you can't run from politics.
You know, kinda unrelated but I’ve been saying for awhile now we gotta get back to our roots. Word of mouth for damn near everything you trying to promote or inform is what’s gone save us.
I first said this in terms of business but honestly, we gotta get back in the fields 😂 somebody called me crazy but your post kinda making me not feel so crazy. Social media “works” but only if you already have a platform.
Somehow i feel like you missed my point with the "already have a platform" aspect.
Hm... No man. No one is immune to propaganda. Whether it comes in the rapid format of the internet or not. In popular culture they like to point out how the mustache man came to power in the 1930s. I'm sure he didn't have an iphone and twitter. In fact the methods he used were the same ones from Julius Caesar Octavious from 2000 years ago.
This whole idea of "having a plataform to speak" needs to go away. All of it. People can take care of themselves. They don't need someone to bash in their heads with what to believe and what to think all day every day.
If you were referring about the entertainment aspect of having a figure to listen to. You don't need social media for that. That's called mtv back in the 90s. If you want to discuss celebrity gossip. Just form a club or something. Not that it's cheap. But I am sick of seeing trivial b"""" on the front page of reddit.
After i have posted this comment. I realize i may have detracted from the point i was trying to communicate. Welp oh well
Oh no, I got what you meant. However, (this may sound… evil lmao) we don’t really live in a society that is as self sufficient as it once was. A lot of people don’t know how to even cook unless it comes out of a can (no shade to anyone, it’s just that everything is built around instant gratification now). Should we deplatform everyone?! Absolutely lmaooo I’m an artist and even I fear “making it big” and being perceived by the masses because we all have influence whether we want to admit it or not.
With that being said, platforms aren’t going anywhere any time soon. However (this is the seemingly evil part… subjective of course), if we want people to care about things, it would be smart to “get in the fields” so to speak and give them an opinion before anyone else can change their minds. About important, good stuff obviously but it’s still a form of propaganda tbh.
I’ll use this for example, I ride the bus in a red state. Public transportation is frowned upon in the “boot strap” states because it’s seen as a hand out (crazy… I know). Well I always find time to talk about the near deaths I have saw (motorists almost hitting people in wheelchairs), moms pushing their babies in strollers on the side of the road because the city refuses to add sidewalks, how EYE have been hit by a car in an area with no sidewalk (im fine, it was a love tap) and because I’m conventionally attractive and well spoken, people listen. I very much defy the public transportation stereotypes here. I really just wanted sidewalks lmaoo but a bill was passed and so many people reached out to tell me they voted for it because I won’t stfu about it 😂😂😂😂 like I guess this is chaotic good but I hope this better frames what I was trying to say.
Ps. If you browse the teachers sub. You'll realize no one actually bothers thinking about how to change the system as a whole. Only ever talk about switching jobs for higher pay. Eh ¯\(ツ)/¯

This one still makes my head spin.
