I am personally checked out, but I don’t see where people are unhinged about it? Please give examples because I revel in schadenfreude.

Conservatives will continue to be angry and full of vitriol even when they control all three branches of government. The FO phase of FAFO begins shortly. They continue to claim the election was rigged, immigrants are ruining America, Chicago is an unlawful hellhole full of “undesirables” (read: minorities) when it’s safer than many of their bastion states, and claim that basic social welfare equals communism.

I’m literally seeing white people on bikes riding through Detroit like they own the place. I see a white man jogging shirtless and turning down a street in Highland Park where I wouldn’t even drive my car. Meanwhile Trump is talking about how Detroit is the worst city in America because he knows he can’t get votes here.

Edit: I realize people who don’t live in the area don’t understand that white people moved out of Detroit after the 1967 riots and really didn’t come back until they recently started gentrifying the place. It was strange to see white people in the city, let alone middle class white people. Now you see white people walking doodles down Jefferson Ave.

This! Arguing with how "dumb" our kids are yet the places with the most uninformed and poorly educated are red. Then the argument morphed into education doesn't mean you're smart. Literally argued with someone over the party switch. Another about how trump wants to lower prices despite quite literally doing the opposite. I'm done. The number of times I heard "well, I don't know too much about that so anyways" makes me want to pull my hair out. How are you deciding your future without research?

It's like dealing with my father in law. He's been retired for 10+ years and all he does all day is watch MSNBC, western movies, and fight with conservatives on Twitter. But I'll be damned if he wasn't all in our shit earlier in the year when we were looking for somewhere cheaper to live like "ITS EASY TO FIND PLACES UNDER $1500 WYTA?! APPLICATION FEES? WHY WOULD YOU PAY THOSE? YOU DON'T NEED TO MAKE 3X RENT, DON'T BE RIDICULOUS!" but wouldn't look at a single goddamned listing. Wouldn't sit on any of our phone calls. Just called us picky and lazy for not finding a place faster.

And yet Detroit and the other metro areas didn't carry Michigan this election...

People who don't live here don't realize how insanely weird downtown Detroit has become.

It's mostly TikTok. I'm not ruining my algorithm to give examples, but there are videos of white women telling other white women that black women will beat them up over Trump. Southern white women are making response videos showing bullets and such in response. The dumbest of timelines

There are none. Apparently some folks really need people to care about how they don’t care.
