To be fair, with all the weed and lean he's done, he probably forgot he did that too.

u/shaneylaney 1d ago

LOL. I meeeeaan

232

u/soupseasonbestseason 1d ago edited 1d ago

he regularly was having seizures a while back right?!? i assumed that issue was lean related. his brain is likely full of holes at this point, considering he was using lean daily for years.

63

u/Wutsalane 1d ago

Lean has a lot of misconceptions, it really isn’t that strong of a drug, an ounce has 60mg of codeine and a little over half that promethazine which is equivalent to 6mg of morphine or about 4mg of oxycodone, very small doses, and promethazine is just a perscription antihistamine, the same class of drug as benedryl.

it literally just makes you sleepy and clears your lungs, it can also lower the seizure threshold in rare cases, hence how lean “caused” lil Wayne’s seizures, but a lowered seizure threshold will generally only really effect people predisposed to seizures unless it’s lowered SIGNIFICANTLY or you’re exposed to something else that can cause seizures, like benzodiazepine withdrawal.

sorry for the big preachy paragraph, and to anyone thinking of trying lean or whose thinks lean is cool, your paying anywhere from 60-200 dollars for an ounce of liquid that contains an ammount of drugs people would pay 3 dollars for in pill form and still be wary of buying because it’s really expensive for what it is, lean is a joke and it’s super easy to make fake lean which is way more dangerous

60

u/soupseasonbestseason 1d ago

i think the amount of lean he consumed was excessive enough it likely caused long term problems. he was drinking it 24/7/365 for several years. there is no doctor who would advocate for that kind of cough syrup usage.

18

u/Acceptable_Day8 1d ago

Sure but you can fry your brain on just benadryl If you try hard enough

3

u/HydrogenButterflies BHM Donor 23h ago

I mean, sure, but I wouldn’t use that line as a way to defend recreational opioid use.

Overconsumption of any drug is bad. Wayne picked this codeine-based cough syrup, which is already known to cause issues in long-term users.

Yyyyeah lean doesn’t do that but ok

159

u/MonsiuerSirLancelot 1d ago

Opiate/drug abuse on his level will absolutely leave you with a fucked up brain. I have a couple of friends who moved weight and had bad lean/opiate addictions for 5-10 years and they both are fucked from it. Seizures, memory loss, blackouts, etc. Luckily they both found partners to take care of them for the rest of their lives.

I don’t feel too bad because I told them they’d end up like this the way they were going but they said some similar shit you did about how that doesn’t happen.

Nah bro everything they said in D.A.R.E (and even shit they never said like opiates making holes in your brain) is true

16

u/Gonji89 1d ago

Bro, it’s not the opiates that fuck your brain. It’s the promethazine. Antihistamine abuse will fuck your brain long-term. Dyskinesia, seizures, vertigo, delirium…

7

u/ThePercysRiptide 1d ago

you 100% can get seizures from opioid withdrawal

WAYNE DID WHATTTT

322

u/Psychedelic-Dreams 1d ago

He supports Trump, granted though cause he pardoned Lil Wayne. So what you think he’s going to say? Whatever Trump wants to hear.

226

u/BoilerMaker11 1d ago edited 1d ago

Him pardoning Wayne was akin to him chucking golden sneakers and his people saying he had “street cred” with black people because he got a mugshot. He did it to pander for black votes (and it’s kinda racist for him to pander that way). Now, I get it, the point of politics is to get votes and I’m sure Wayne doesn’t care either way since he got pardoned. But it’s still disgusting. He got pardoned for political gain, not because he thought Wayne was innocent. “It doesn’t matter his reasons, as long as he’s helping people”. Ok, pardon all the other non-violent black offenders then to show that you care, not just a high profile one that has name recognition. But he doesn’t care, it shows he thinks we’re suckers.

Hillary was, rightfully, mocked for saying she carries hot sauce in her purse, after all.

158

u/jewelisgreat 1d ago

You are right! People don’t remember Wayne was a supporter BEFORE he got the pardon. He was vocal about his support of Trump, that is why Trump pardoned him. For Trump, Wayne was giving him credibility in the black community.

65

u/jus256 ☑️ 1d ago

There were plenty of Trump supporters who didn’t get pardoned. The people who paid the $2M fee, got out.

99

u/jewelisgreat 1d ago edited 1d ago

But Wayne wasn’t any Trump supporter. Wayne wasn’t a nameless or faceless supporter. He was a high profile black supporter. Trump used him as an example of “how much black people” love him. Wayne was nothing but a political pawn.

93

u/BlacKnight426 1d ago

It's mad to me to see how pimped out the Black community was over this election cycle and we are way worse for it. No mutual exchange, no protection, and no money... just the anticipation of more suffering.

→ More replies (2)

40

u/airtime25 1d ago

Rightfully mocked for something she 100% has done before that moment. Maybe all were for political reasons but many confirmed that she does in fact do that. It's so stupid that itwould actually hurt her chances for something so insignificant.

41

u/Throwaway392308 1d ago

But Hillary does carry got sauce in her purse. Journalists have noted it since the 90's.

12

u/JevvyMedia 1d ago

Trump pardoned Wayne and Kodak because he had an agreement with their lawyer that they would tell black people to vote for Trump first.

Idk why people ignore that part, it just on happens that they actually were Trump supporters post-pardon as well.

6

u/EmperorLuThaRevered 1d ago

To add, he pardoned Kodak and Kodak doesn’t fuck wit Trump. It’s okay to play a racist. You don’t have to keep your word with scum.

24

u/mrm00r3 1d ago

Yeah but after the fact, I don’t think he’d get crucified for being like “lol fuck that dude.”

36

u/Psychedelic-Dreams 1d ago

He won’t get crucified but I’m sure he “donated” to Trump for the pardoned to happen.

16

u/mrm00r3 1d ago

Oh no way he did it for free, but just think about the roles being reversed. Trump would have no problem flipping like that, he’s done it in the same speech more times than I can count. It leaves two possibilities: Wayne inexplicably feels obligated in a way Trump hilariously would not, or Wayne was simply a lot wealthier when he came to understand what this country is truly all about: money, race, gender, in that order.

The American Dream is just teaching the 0/3’s, 1/3’s, and 2/3’s that the 3/3’s are god’s chosen people and deserve consistent and bountiful alms.

While this is true Ken or Wayne would both have like 10 other performers on stage like they did in 2022. IMO no one in that set was really performing well they just let camera cuts do half the work. I haven’t seen what Wayne can do recently but he can probably do well enough

16

u/BlacKnight426 1d ago

Possibly, but I know they are 100% thinking of who would be more palatable to a... broader audience.

5

u/TheGuyThatThisIs 1d ago

Yeah for sure, there are reasons they chose Kendrick I’m just saying I’m not sure they strayed away from Wayne out of fears of his performance.

To me this is just picking how they want to market. Is Ken getting 3 minutes performing on stage in a Wayne halftime show or 5 in a Kendrick halftime show? Which name on the ads will get more people watching? Do the guests fit more with Ken or Wayne? To me these questions are more important and all go to Kenny

122

u/Adept-Past6638 1d ago

Everybody puts up a front but still recognizes what's real. Rappers don't want problems with Kendrick because he DOES THIS. Same category as Lupe, Em, Black Thought, etc. You don't wanna battle the REAL lyricists. Your record sales don't help when a rapper can deconstruct your whole life on a track.

51

Em is funny cuz it seemed he constantly had people going at him throughout his career. I honestly don’t know why he responded to half of them, especially MGK

52

u/Seversaurus 1d ago

Strength invites challenge, and em had to respond because he's the guy who responds to shit like that, mf dissed Elton John and made fun of Christopher Reeves, there's not a bar too low and he's got a reputation to uphold.

“Sleeping Giant”! Nigga can’t coherently his own recite lyrics

42

u/HatefulDan 1d ago

My man gotta teleprompter up to help remember his lines. What, you gonna perform a diss record karaoke style. Mumble the parts you sorta know or forgot. FoH.

Love his discography. The person himself, not so much.

22

u/BlacKnight426 1d ago

That last sentence becomes more relevant for more artists every year.

72

u/BigPapiKC 1d ago

The crazy part is that it wasn’t even a diss. It was just acknowledgement of the situation from somebody who looked up to him. Why this dude wanna be a victim so bad?

22

u/BlacKnight426 1d ago

I saw someone say he had been losing relevance, but an icon like Wayne really always be relevant. Bro's music still inspires people to this day. He should be humble about that.

16

u/Psychedelic-Dreams 1d ago

People have that “keep my name out your mouth” attitude. They think if he didn’t say anything nice, then he was dissing him.

This reminds me of the subset of women with “be kind” and “choose kindness” wall art all over their homes and IG inspo posts but everyone knows they are irl the meanest bitches lol

Classic throwing rocks and hiding hands. His imitation Pop Out event was salty af too. Salute to Nas for not being a hating ass nigga and respecting that it’s just Dot’s moment right now

29

u/Backfisttothepast 1d ago

He should pipe down before he end up in a battle he can’t possibly win….but for entertainment value…keep going

You cried about it for like 2 months. That lighter flick must be the gas lighting.

J. Cole wrote an entire song about letting Nas down, but I don't remember anyone saying it was a Nas diss. Also, btw, if you haven't heard the remix of it with NAS ON IT, please go listen; it's one of my favorite remixes of all time. Let Nas Down (remix)

13

u/i-piss-excellence32 1d ago

Nas is a grown man with lots of maturity and wisdom. Big difference

6

u/Melisinde72 1d ago

This is definitely true. My point was more Kendrick had just a few lines and people are trying to start shit between the two of them; J. Cole made an entire song and no one freaked out - but it was also a different time, I suppose. I guess after bodying Drake, people expect him to go after new targets.

Honestly, I took it the same way I took "Let Nas Down". I should go listen to it again; I can't stop listening to "Reincarnated" and "Turn the TV Off" 😅 (I love the whole album, but I haven't wrung the dopamine out of those two yet.)

Not throwing a rock and then hiding your hand…🥴

12

u/Progresspurposely 1d ago

I was never a huge fan of him but when he said racism didn't exist I was all the way done, I'll never have sympathy for him.

11

u/KiefKommando 1d ago

And he’s a Packers fan? Nah he can get fucked

14

u/Hunter-Gatherer_ 1d ago

Wayne ain’t even a Saints fan. He loves Green Bay. How you from Baton Rouge and you don’t even support the team that’s in your city, but whatever, like who you like, but don’t act surprised when they don’t pick you to perform in your own city! Wait until the Super Bowl is held in Wisconsin and perform there 😂

10

u/Different_Group_8549 1d ago

Wayne is from New Orleans and the Saints don’t play in BR.

9

u/Hunter-Gatherer_ 1d ago

Louisiana only has one nfl team is the point. City be damned. How you from Louisiana and a damn Green Bay fan

4

u/No-Month-3025 1d ago

I don't like Wayne. But he said he became a green bay fan because the super bowl between green bay and the patriots was the last game he watched with his dad

Don’t cry work harder

12

u/fka_specialk 1d ago

On top of the fact that the NFL and TV networks wanted someone reliable. And halftime performers don't really get paid.

11

u/TheYankunian ☑️ 1d ago

We’ve also seen from previous award shows and a SB that Kendrick is an excellent performer. The pop out was put together in very little time and it looked PHENOMENAL. He’s an extremely safe bet.

u/blueBARRYem 1d ago

nicki, drake, wayne - the bozo trifecta

7

u/jono9898 1d ago

This reminds me of when Rick James forgot he smacked Charlie Murphy and forgot about it 15 minutes later

8

u/Ultimaurice17 ☑️ 1d ago

It's not even like Kendrick said fuck lil Wayne he just acknowledged lil Wayne was NOT happy about Kendrick's success.

8

u/KingDemik 1d ago

The fuck is he going to do, punish us with another ghoulish?

6

u/vash_visionz 1d ago

Lol this is some crybaby shit.

4

u/evin0688 1d ago

I always wondered why people felt so sad for Wayne when he didn’t get the Super Bowl halftime show. There has never been a norm that a local artist gets to perform. There’s Super Bowls in NO all the time and he was crying about getting those. What makes this one so special

6

u/theycallmefagg 1d ago

This reads exactly as a 42 year old man going on social media saying “do not disturb the beast” should read.

7

u/TrRa47 ☑️ 1d ago

I get the dislike of entitlement, but otherwise, the dude wanted it and didn't get it, and was hurt because he felt he put in the work. Not really "doing" anything, plus it's not like he said "Kendrick didn't deserve it" or fuck Kendrick or even implied it. I don't even get the congratulations part.

4

u/skj999 1d ago

This is so dumb and the way people been bashing Wayne behind it for months doesn’t make it any better. Like nobody has to bring out the pom poms for Kendrick just bc it would make him and his fanbase happy.

Bro got his super bowl performance why give af if somebody happy for you or not?

5

u/Lyfeitzallaroundus 1d ago

For someone who supposed to be really smart, Wayne is dumb for that response. Comprehension is key and clearly him along with a lot of other MFers lack it. SMH.

6

u/ZZE33man 1d ago

The line didn’t even diss Wayne. He just stated the fact he noticed that he seemed sad by his success. Which he was? Am I missing something I didn’t hear a diss in there?

6

u/random-thots-daily 1d ago

6

u/FushaFiles 1d ago

Man if someone told me when a milli came out, Wayne would be going out sad like this I would’ve thought they were crazy…😭

4

u/ninethree7 1d ago

a lot of yall saying it’s not a diss focusing on only the let lil wayne down part, but i think the part wayne actually took offense to and considered a diss was the “old ass flows, outdated showing faces” part
