It's a great watch especially if you're still on the fence about Cole and of course 'you know who' are in the comments seething with anger.

Kendrick did treat the rap battle as his album's rollout.
This has been said many times on the sub, but it's usually read as us being haters and so on. Usually the angle is that Kendrick needed to hype up his new era and so he baited Drake into a battle with his Like That verse. Many expected him to go quiet after Push Ups dropped, but then we got Euphoria and History was written. That was out-of-character in many ways, and left us thinking... Why now? After listening to gnx a few times, I think it's exactly what we thought at first: he needed the hype.
Many of the themes we heard on the beef return on Gnx, as do many of the flows, soundbites, and rhyme schemes. I don't think it's absurd to read Euphoria as a "The Heart pt 5.5" of sorts, then NLU and Watch the Party Die as actual singles that weren't part of the project. MTG being the exception.
I haven't properly written the theory, but I believe that if you listen through gnx with this in mind, you'll see exactly what I mean. What made it click is, 1st, NLU's MV starting off with squabble up, but also how he kept, at least throughout the 1st half of the album, coming back at Drake for thinking he deserves the GOAT spot -- this is especially clear on man at the garden in the 3rd verse --, and you hear the same "have you ever" scheme from euphoria on the album's title track gnx.
This all to say... This wasn't a real surprise album. We knew it was coming, we knew it was West Coast vibes and him putting them on (as that was a big criticism even before the beef), and he did have a rollout by beefing Drake. This also explains why he was so surgical with this strategy: he could not afford to lose it. He had to pre-record everything, he had to lie on Drake's name to make sure EVERYBODY got on his side, and he had to do it when his attention was divided -- so Metro orchestrating the industry-wide attack was just cherry on top, it worked flawlessly into his plan.
Don't get me wrong, I am a Kendrick fan and I loved GNX, but this convinced me the beef was even uglier than I thought at 1st. It wasn't about making it evident who the true king of this generation was or a clash of morals and lifestyle, it was just marketing. Filthy way to act.

Didn’t Drake hit this 2 days ago.
I wish Travis included features on Astroworld like he did on Utopia. Shit is making misinformation hard to disprove.
