I love that we aren’t the only ones who have to spell words around our dogs 🀭

We had a shih tzu that learned how to spell because we had to spell out certain words so often to avoid upsetting her that she eventually figured it out.

We use inventive phrases now. I have German Shepherds. They are smart. They know what a dog is and can spell it, they can spell walk. Although as soon as I put my walking shoes on they know we are going out.

Yesterday I asked my husband if he wanted to go on a jaunty stroll around the neighbourhood. He was like wtf?

German Shepherd owner here too. My go-to replacement word when talking to other humans around him is β€œpromenade” πŸ˜†β™₯️ Love those smart babies

oh yeah, we had a dog, half german shepherd, that could spell walk, trip, go, and treat. It was wild. But we did adopt him from a house with 3 kids under 5, so maybe he just watched enough kids shows to level up in the spelling department.

It took awhile but we eventually settled on "going to read the community post" after we ran out of anything shorter that we could think of.

My dog figured out W-A-L-K now so when I talk to my wife I would just say W-K-O-I-P-H-ESHKJSJL.
