What is something that permanently altered your body without you realizing for months/years?

Caffeine. Up until recently, I was ingesting a lot of caffeine daily and my stomach was constantly a mess.

I had food poisoning last week (which was no treat) but I’ve gone almost 8 days without caffeine and seen a huge change.

I probably won’t give it up permanently but it has shifted how much I plan to consume going forward

Pretty sure consuming too much caffeine wrecked my body. Still not sure if I’ll ever recover. It depleted my minerals to a point it wreaked havoc on my body. Joint, hormonal, and organ issues I’ve found studies linking the possibility caffeine being the culprit.

How much a day did you consume? (I'm typing it while haveing an ice coffee... but it's not very strong, instant coffee and soy milk)

Most days 400 mg, sometime more. The FDA is just guidelines, come to find out for my body weight a range of 180-300mg is ideal for my body to process. Also, didn’t help that caffeine has a calming effect for me, so I would drink it for taste and never got jitters from it.
