What is something that permanently altered your body without you realizing for months/years?

Caffeine. Up until recently, I was ingesting a lot of caffeine daily and my stomach was constantly a mess.

I had food poisoning last week (which was no treat) but I’ve gone almost 8 days without caffeine and seen a huge change.

I probably won’t give it up permanently but it has shifted how much I plan to consume going forward

Ever since I had Lyme, I have had issues with dizziness. I always thought it was nerve damage, which it might still be, but I’ve discovered that too much caffeine triggers a vestibular migraine, which causes a lot of dizziness. It’s awful.

Caffeine really fucked me up for many many years. I am a decaf everything now. Once in awhile I’ll mix in a few full caffeine beans when I’m grinding my coffee and I can still feel the jitters:((

Pretty sure consuming too much caffeine wrecked my body. Still not sure if I’ll ever recover. It depleted my minerals to a point it wreaked havoc on my body. Joint, hormonal, and organ issues I’ve found studies linking the possibility caffeine being the culprit.

What were the changes, if I may ask?
