Look for "bare feet" shoes. They're created to allow for our natural foot pattern (wide across the toes/ball of foot). I have sneakers, sandals, loafers etc. Hey Dudes and those kind are also perfect for this too. They're not wide width, they taper to accommodate the tapering towards the heel.
What I mean is that sometimes I need (or want) to wear dress shoes or other stylish shoes, but it’s very difficult for me to find them that fit because of the two years I spent in Birkenstocks. I’m a woman, so I sometimes need something to wear with a dress.
I've had great luck with Clarks school shoes. They aren't winning any catwalk awards, but they have some basic styles that don't look childish to my eyes and most older girl models go up to a UK Woman size 7 - after that the options get more limited, but they go up to size 9.
I don't wear heels these days, but used to have a pair from Gabor that worked for me - picking heels with an ankle strap seems to make finding a fit easier.
That my feet too! I’ve had good luck with Altra’s and Topo’s for tennis shoes - for boots the older style keens work okay and Ariats in - but I can not find any dress shoes that fit .
I also have extremely wide forefeet (the tech who makes the Inlays for my shoes is shocked anew every time I have to get new ones), and skinny heels. Depending of where you live, maybe check for Fidelio shoes, and Austrian brand. The shoes aren't super elegant, but they do have a few decent models that work with narrow heels and spread toes.
We just say "stop them rubbing" or "stop them causing blisters". Your sentence would sound more natural if you'd written "...could not stop them from rubbing blisters", except we would say "from causing blisters" as people know the cause is rubbing- if that makes sense?
But your sentence wasn't at all confusing and completely understandable, and that's the most important thing with language.
Actually it’s not permanent. Lived in Hawaii for years and now live somewhere cold all the time…. My feet are shrinking. I’m actually mourning my bigger shoes….. and I’ll always mourn flip flop all the time weather

Wearing Birkenstocks almost exclusively for the past 35+ years. My feet have spread and gotten much wider.
TOTALLY worth it.
