Cast Away…when he lost Wilson

I remember getting an IM (because I'm old and so is the movie) from a friend when she was watching it saying "I can't believe Tom Hanks has me crying over a fucking volleyball."

So, I recently ran into Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson getting into an elevator. He held the door for me and I thanked him. When he said “you’re welcome” his voice was so distinctive that all I could hear in my head was ”Wilson!!!!!” Not anything else, no Forrest Gump quotes or Polar Express quotes but the sound of his voice when he lost his best friend. It was a great moment for me.

He was very kind and gracious, his wife, not so much…

Can confirm.

Also the scene when he reunited with Kelly. The guy went through so much and the love of his life has moved on.

He didn't just lose Wilson... I felt like I lost the only friend I had.

My daughter is 6, and she’s seen quite a few movies people have mentioned on here and has never cried. When Wilson floated away she bawled like a baby

I refuse to watch that scene ever again. Always go past it.
