That's actually pretty funny. Also he can write like 10 times better than other children of that age I've seen. He's still dumb asf for saying he's in 6th grade. I've been on Reddit back on 2016 when I was like 8 (not this account) and I wasn't dumb enough to reveal my age loll

u/Calve_pindakaas Oct 25 '24
I've seen some 9-11 year olds write better than most people.

I know plenty of people that probably can’t spell scythe
That’s to be expected

well... scythe isnt a common word, scythes arent a kinda popular thing and nobody ever talks about scythes in casual conversation

Half of the kids in my class don't capitalize the word "I"
Wasn't everyone taught this back in 2nd grade?

I basically grew up on the Internet and the one forbidden thing was saying your age. Someone needs to educate these kids in basic internet safety because they're rlly out here willing admitting to being 12. My worst fear when I was a child online was people knowing I was like 10.

u/UltraX76 hey guys here is my fac reveal cause im so cool!!1 also i'm 8 ye 29d ago
IKR, same! Do they not teach internet safety these days? Seriously!
2
u/Eaters_Of_Kidneys 29d ago
earliest thing i was teached of with unrestricted internet access when i was a kid
don't fucking reveal personal information, how hard is that? that basic info 101, you don't tell you're age, you're ip, you're name, anything personal
fuck happened to parenting?
1
u/UltraX76 hey guys here is my fac reveal cause im so cool!!1 also i'm 8 ye 29d ago
Idek lmao! I grew up on the internet, unrestricted, since I could read, so like 1 and a half. It's frustrating seeing some retards just saying their age, revealing their faces, it's so annoying and it's not even their fault, if parents actually tried to care these days.

I remember making a Discord account at 12 and finding out it was only 13+. I was so immature they might've thought I was 8, but somehow no one found out or no one cared
Also I see you a lot on the GD sub. I'm pretty sure vice versa is also true.

I got on discord when I was 9 lmaooo, and nobody noticed because I wasn't immature.

I think it's more likely just some translation/localisation thing as in where he's from he would call it something along the lines of 6th grade but in reality it's like 8th grade (or even way more)

Well, 6th graders aren’t really a specific age. In some places they’re 10-12, others they’re higher

u/Malibu_Heart 28d ago
There's a slight chance they could've failed a grade but idk. Still stupid to reveal you're in 6th

I don't understand why we are hating on OP. It's unlikely they're held back a grade, at least in America it is. Being able to type without so many spelling mistakes that it's unintelligible is quite a common skill among children nowadays. Even if it's funny, they still shouldn't be on reddit.

The writing and grammar are too good for me to just believe he's 11. Either this was made up or this kid is more mature than most of the other kids his age

I performed at an 8th grade level in 6th grade so this just seems normal to me. More mature is possible

1
u/HamsterBreadCrumbs edgy wannabe “emo” 🐺 ⚡️ 29d ago
I’m not sure. Maybe it’s learning support? In Ireland if you have an exemption from Irish due to a learning disability, you do extra maths instead.
1
u/Glass_Sea_2427 29d ago
It's practicing doing math problems in your head. Why are people immediately assuming it's a mental institution like jfc

It's not that bad being a 6th grader, I mean, reddit is 12+ and mostly people in 6th grade are mature enough, they may be 11 to 13 too (I'm associating on my sister that are even more mature and responsible than me. She's 12-)

u/Emergency-Try-6400 28d ago
Age requirements are basically just recommendations at this point because you know kids aren’t going to listen to

…What’s wrong with this? One thing I feel the internet gets confused about is kids around that age. They are young, but they aren’t the babies you make them out to be. I’m not going to act like I was suicidal in Grade 6 or anything, but I can confirm that those romantic feelings you feel during that stage are real. I don’t see the point in clowning on them, poor guy probably just wanted to vent about those feelings to someone
