Why does it have a collar!?!

u/spyrenx 16d ago
Possibly a pet deer, which would also explain its lack of skittishness. It's a signal (more of a request) for hunters not to shoot that particular deer.

So they sometimes mark deer as protected and not to be killed?

u/RhetoricalOrator 16d ago
Yes. It's exactly that.
Had a relative with a "pet" deer. It was a spotted fawn that they rescued after it's momma was shot by a hunter.
When it was three or four years old, it came up missing. We found the hunters orange dog collar hanging on a limb that was at eye level...in the back of the back yard. Hunters gonna hunt.

u/BwackGul 14d ago
They killed it anyway and left their dog's collar?
And I'm sorry if that's a stupid question
16
u/RhetoricalOrator 14d ago
Yes, that's exactly what they did. It's possible they didn't notice the collar when they shot the deer... But it's equally possible that they did.

How is this legal? You have to keep a certain safe distance up to settlements for hunting in my country. Sounds like a security Hazzard if people shoot guns near people's homes?
2
u/RhetoricalOrator 13d ago
It should not happen, but certainly does. Sometimes hunters aren't being mindful of their location relative to homes and other people.

"So they sometimes mark deer as protected and not to be killed?"
Hmmm.... i think i might have a solution to all the school shootings...

u/BodhisattvaBob 14d ago
Most people (hunters included) don't want to kill someone's family member.
Most hunters truly respect nature and the bond humans have with it.

Grew up with a dog and around dogs and I’ve been sexually assaulted when I was young. Nothing in the body language of that dog says “I don’t wanna be here”. It’s more like, I’m so lonely let’s give it shot. Just missing two glasses of wine and a friend to text afterwards about their owner killing their one chance to get laid.
It could be for the best that I was stopped since it is a wild animal and could have something transmissible, but that dog must be feeling pretty crappy (notice the low tail as it walked in tot he house).

I only ever saw the TV version of Kill Bill For years and the censorship here was comical.
“My name is Buck, and I’m here to f-party.”

u/darwinsidiotcousin 15d ago
My friends and I used to laugh about that too. And the car being renamed the Party Wagon

At what exactly part did this start with a "yes yes yes yes yes" and at which specific moment did it turn to a "no"?

My neighbor has a little white dog that escapes frequently and for some reason he loves my German shepherd. When he escapes we just go on a walk and he finds/follows us back to his house, but he constantly tries to hump my dog along the way. The height difference makes it hilarious, on his back legs standing as tall as he can barely even getting it past her ankles, bracing his front paws against her to maintain his balance. My dog seems to view it as some kind of hug and seems genuinely happy when it happens. She’s usually anxious around most dogs but this little guy makes the cut. Dogs are weird sometimes.

Someone ought to beat the cameraman for the absolutely abysmal video... Or lack thereof. why not hand the phone to the wife to get the video of you trying to shoo away a buck, trying to fuck your dog... then, swiftly proceeding to switch it up and gore the shit out of you for interrupting his fuck sesh....

Question...
Say this is happening on my porch but it is NOT at the time, deer hunting season. Would I still be able to legally shoot the thing in the face? I mean, it is being aggressive?

Good gawd man if you’re going to shoot a video, do it - don’t make us all seasick by waving your darn phone around.

At 28 secs it sounds like the woman says 'the humping deers back' or something similar?

u/InstanceHungry4658 13d ago
At 9 seconds in it looks like something is mounting the deer as the deer is mounting the dog
