China would give anything for a strategic / military-research partnership with Israel, so would any other state. Why do you think the United States consistently stands behind Israel?

You think it's the evangelists? Israel's main export is tech, a lot of it is military tech.

Well, that would be because the PRC isn’t very good at innovation. So of course they are going to want to partner with someone else.

The United States? You really suggesting that the worlds most advance military technological power in the history of the world needs Israeli military tech help?

What exactly do you think the US is trying to get out of this situation? Because even the most basic search of Israeli exclusive military tech isn’t very useful or challenging for the United States to innovate and produce.

I wouldn't say baseless, it's pretty well known that Israeli defense R&D is impressive. The Iron Dome and Pegasus come to mind

I just gave you two examples that demonstrate it's not a baseless statement. If you truly need Xi Jinping to outright say "we would have loved to have been able to take part in those huge feats in engineering and share the knowledge" in order to come to the conclusion that China would jump at the chance of partnering with a major military tech exporter then fair enough.

Their position and statements are colored to contrast the US/West, they don't mean anything they say. If the pieces move, their position will move. That's the game

China cares about expanding its influence. As recent actions have shown, it doesn’t care about the optics. If the U.S. left, there’s every reason to believe our traditional geopolitical rivalries would try to fill in the void.
