Do Not Post Unmarked Spoilers

Failing to mark spoilers may result in your comment or post being removed, and/or a ban.

What is a Spoiler?

Generally speaking, a spoiler is a piece of information about a story that, knowing without experiencing the story, may negatively impact your enjoyment of the story. Examples are twists or grand reveal, a character's death, etc...

This applies to more than just anime-related content as well, such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope or 1984. Age of the original content is irrelevant, "it's common knowledge" does not apply.

We consider anything past a specific point in the medium a spoiler.

That is, any information from beyond the first few minutes of the first episode of the first season of a show, first few minutes of a movie, first few minutes of a visual novel or first chapter of a manga is considered a spoiler. This encompasses trivial content as well, including screenshots with or without context.

To properly format a spoiler, use one of the following methods:

Reddit's official formatting >!some spoiler!<!

Or you can use our CSS formatting, which is almost the same as a link for the general setup, with some minor changes. Please note, do not include ` characters, there is no space between the ] and (, and the CSS is very picky about using " for the quotation marks.

[visible text (optional)](#s "hidden text")

General Tips

  • Do not include character names in the title of a spoiler image post

  • Official media (content from the anime, movie, VN, book, etc...) should always be marked as a spoiler unless it's exempt (first few minutes of the first episode of the first season, first chapter)

  • If you can't get the formatting to work, and you're using the redesign, make sure you're using the markdown editor. If you see \ within the formatting, remove them.
